... if I'm not mistaken Mafia 2 is already backwards compatible, so if it's really not a noticeable upgrade I'm going to be passing on that...
for me the real story was Mafia 1 getting the complete redo, particularly because I never got a chance to play it so I'll definitely be picking that up looks like it's going to be $30 by its own, six months later I'll pick it up for half that.
agreed.
they can make photo-realistic characters, they get closer and closer when they're only used in cutscenes though and that's where the real problematic things are, just keeping that level of facial realism and expression in a full motion game.
although to be fair there's all sorts of tricks they use nowadays to get around that, like when you're busy moving with a character, even if you have a 360 rotating camera, you're always looking outward as yo...
definitely sophistication, the only game I played really that shows any sort of realistic kind of thinking and strategy, along with movement /flanking things like that, has been the division 2.
it's not super impressive but it's really good. before that it was fear, the first one, and then they stepped away from that to make it prettier.
I would definitely like to see some advancements in A.I., physics and start locking those things down,
not to mention I...
Before I get a bunch of hate filled personal messages, hear me out.
turn base to me has always been a curious animal.
it appeals to me in no way shape or form whatsoever. (just like real time strategy)
I find it super boring.
that being said, I understand what charm that it has and how unique it is.
it's one of those things that will just never go away, (RTS being a different beast)
and just talkin turn-based, it's really the...
no, but that's when the grinding into the ground of yet another call of duty franchise began, for this one.
first Black ops (even the second one) was good.
after that it became a sticker on the outside of the box.
what they're celebrating,
is yet another marketing strategy.
and this is the first seed in it...
can't wait for the first "leak" and then the second.
and then the third.
and then the reveal.
and then... well... we all know the drill, don't we ?
Christ, do these people do ANYTHING original anymore!?...
the only thing scraping the barrel here is your maturity level.
plenty of other games they could have named (Lost Odyssey being mentioned at the top of the comments here) there's several others too,
this is just their personal opinion.
@apocalypseshadow.
that's your taking the statement out of context, clearly said it was at the end of generation.
and they did not, absolutely did not, out sell them from the get-go, all the way through.
you're full of shit, just like the assertion they were posting numbers on NPD, they don't post numbers neither does Sony,
NPD does that independently, but of course that doesn't support your false narrative,
"based on aligned ...
@isarai,
That's not what I said at all,
it's pretty easy reading:
Microsoft doesn't have to worry about cutting costs, they can afford to manufacture something even if it's more expensive, AND sell it for less than Sony can,
because Sony is more dependent on its gaming division for its overall financial health, then Microsoft's gaming division, Xbox.
does that explain it any better to you ?
@jimbost 79,
Reading...
if Sony can announce $399 Microsoft doesn't need to go below that...
And So, by your philosophy if it's games alone that sell consoles, and not the ecosystem, why does Xbox live have such a huge base? why have they sold over 60 million consoles?
here's a news flash: you stay with PlayStation and bought PlayStation and love PlayStation for the reasons you stated, well not "everybody" feels that way do they? I'd rather have Xbox and Xbox live then your guys highly-touted overrated exclusives, which equates two maybe three games fr...
"PS3 outsold the 360 from the get-go worldwide"
no, they did not
they caught up at the end. by then Microsoft and Xbox were already having internal problems as to where they were going and what they were going to do overall, as a company, the 360 was coasting...
and the funny thing is Microsoft wasn't worried about winning then either, they were just doing really really well, and that's all they cared about.
you guys are the ones who are...
and the people that designed Xbox series X are at least as intelligent as he is.
the difference in design philosophy between the two has always been very clear: Xbox emphasizes stability frame rate and the ability to be played over and through a network, and a great deal of the emphasis from Sony has always been on prettier graphics.
how many pretty jumpy framey stuttering games are on Sony's machine?
bloodborne is the big stand-out (exclusive) I love how peopl...
that's why they can undercut them.
because Microsoft doesn't have to cut costs.
they can afford to take a bigger hit than Sony can for 2 to 3 years and lose money on the machines,
the machines isn't what they're focused on anyway, if you guys haven't picked up on that yet...
it's really hard for people (and those people know who they are)to admit, what we already know, if we play Xbox.
Steve ballmer was dirt diving the whole company, and the launch of Xbox one was a huge culmination of all of those things.
it took them the entire console generation to turn it around and recover, but haters are going to hate bud...
it's amazing how many things Microsoft and Xbox has brought to the table as far as gaming overall how the storefront...
you might as well try to sue Jesus,
hate to say it but they're going to find this out with all of the talk about the coronavirus.
we can take international sanctions against China and they're going to have other countries join in with sanctions and penalties, but to actually have a lawsuit where you are awarded any sort of damages?
forget it.
the law concerning this is only applicable in America.
internationally, against a company?
good luck suing a Chinese company, you're not going to get any money out of this and they know it, it's all about it protecting their IP from blatant infringement. that's why they're going after Apple and Google so they'll take it down as they
are under legal obligation to do so, then issue some sort of statement. (from both of them)
but they will they aren't going to risk one iota of their reputation for a company that's doing this.
I can't hear in the back of my mind an attorneys laughter when he's looking at this...
if you haven't already,
just go ahead and Google it or you tube but it's it's exactly the same game,
I mean they literally copy and pasted every single element, the weapons the sight systems the way the hud is set up, drones, rappelling, I was expecting it to be pretty close to where you go: "okay that's shady" no, it's not a case of that all, its: "wow!, you rippin' off motherfuckers!!"
I mean it's such a blatan...
funny this article came up,
because I'm probably on the last third of shadow of the tomb raider as we speak.
I can definitely see a disconnect between this game and the first two installments.
they were handled differently and even though all of the same elements seem to be present, there's (for myself at least)
a glaring difference in the way the games play out.
this game feels like 1/3 action-adventure game 1/3 collect-a-thon and one-thir...
