Syndicate was one of the dullest games I've played in a long while.
I loved the world I saw from the trailers - but the execution of the gameplay was incredibly bland. Boring enemies, pointless "hacking" gimmicks, they even got some of the simple mechanics wrong.
Starbreeze's previous games were all acclaimed, so I didn't think they could do that badly with Syndicate. They did.
Have Nintendo gotten rid of that stipulation that you must sell at least 6000 copies of your game before receiving any money whatsoever?

Have you seen the mobile ecosystem wars? Everyone pays everyone else royalties. That's how it works. Take a look at the H264 battles.
That being said, Microsoft may believe that everyone who wants Blu-Ray already has it - and go for a cheaper bespoke option like Nintendo did.
If Microsoft can negotiate a low enough Blu-Ray royalty rate, they might just go with Blu-Ray. This could make the next Xbox become the centre of the living room experience, whic...
"People can already watch Youtube and have access to on demand TV from built in freeview boxes and their games consoles."
People can already play games from their games consoles.
You failed to address the cost and corporate relationship issue - which is by far the bigger obstacle than "oh, wouldn't this be cool".
Do you see how incredibly difficult it has been for Google TV to get traction? Eric Schmidt said by mid 2012, it'd be integrated into the majority of TVs. That never happened. And Google TV is a tiny thing which just requires a little ARM chip.
Google has Android products with all the major TV manufacturers, Samsung, LG, Sharp and Sony. Yet they've still not managed to get in the TV space.
No possible way that Microsoft will get a full console int...
It won't be.
Look at Sony now, hell, just concentrate on their gaming division (which is probably their most successful).
If this is how Sony looks like after winning a war, I'd really hate to see how they'd look like after losing one.
Sony had the worse performance this generation than they've ever done. They've let themselves down, they know it.
They allowed Microsoft to get near parity, and given that Microsoft have been making a profi...
By the time Activision get around to collating the results of this survey, Valve will have already moved onto the next thing.
Place the thumbsticks in the natural position.
If there were no other buttons on the controller, where would you place the thumbsticks? So place them there. Don't treat them as an additional input method, they're the primary control method.
Note to DragonKnight - at no point did I mention asymmetry. Please do not hijack this thread, it's unbecoming.
Since when did I say I wanted asymmetrical thumbsticks? Idiots can't even read.
When there were no thumbsticks on the playstation controller, where did they place the buttons? In the most natural position.
EDIT - lol, PMed DragonKnight about his complete fail to understand the English language. Got blocked.
Please move the thumbsticks into their natural position.
And if you think they're currently at the natural position right now, then why the hell did Sony not have the Dpad and face buttons there in their original design.
The thumbsticks originally were an addition, they weren't the primary control method. They are the primary now, get them right.
Difficult to borrow money when your bonds are junk.
Sale of assets is a good move though. Nokia recently did it with their Finland HQ.
Sony only bought their NY building 10 years ago, and it has quadrupled in value, that's a fantastic return regardless - sure made them more money than their TV business.
Pro, we obviously value our space differently. I have a 1TB drive on my PC, and its full of great movies that I've only watched once or twice. I've got Skyrim installed still and I haven't touched that in half a year.
I'll start deleting them when my disk gets full. Chances are, I'll just buy a new disk.
Someone clearly has hit the 100 mark, or else this story wouldn't have appeared. Can you imagine if Steam only let you have 100 g...
Who the fuck wants to delete and redownload their apps because the OS is rubbish?
Obviously, the Vita catalogue is a lot smaller, but take a look at people's Steam folder sizes, or the amount of apps people have on their phones.
I've not touched Angry Birds in months, yet I keep it on my phone, just because I can.
No Dragonknight, Capcom definitely don't give a crap about money from the sim-racer crowd.
Clearly they don't give a toss about your money, or they'd have released the same game again from the same developers doing exactly the same thing.
Yes, to avoid the creative sinkhole, all sequels should be exactly like their predecessors.
They should obviously make DMC more generically Japanese again. Maybe there will be a DLC to do that.
I'd say Sony going back with the Cell would be significantly more likely than going for an x86 AMD solution (which we've seen rumoured on N4G before).
The tools and technology should be there already. It would not require the massive R+D investment up front, which Sony can't afford this time around. It'd make backwards compatability a lot easier - which is going to be a bigger issue given how much stronger the PC space is right now compared to last time.
It's an annual list. About their current work - not "over many years". You've been mislead due to the crap ass N4G approval process.
