That's what I was saying. The specifically developed the PS4-version and thus put money into it, whereas the Games that allowed Upgrades, such as Battlefield or CoD or AC had already been created and just made them 10 bucks extra without any additiuonal cost. Since this is clearly not the case here they obviously wouldn't allow an upgrade.
They will never let you upgrade a year after the game was released. In the console launch window? Sure, They made more money this way, but over a year later with a project that was independently developed and funded - no way!
If my understanding of the technology is correct than you are right. The second part of my statement was just to mean that people will ignore the facts if there is an opportunity to talk bad about something new.
And that understanding is correct but don't let logic get in the way of a good argument.
Noone seems to understand that, though. Everyone pretends like Morpheus would need a machine that can render 4K@240 frames per second. The render load will be only slightly above current 1080p-imagery if at all. The views from both eyes are only minimally different. It is not like the second eye needs a completely different set of textures and geometry. So there is no additional loading and geometry processing, physics or anything. The system still only renders 1920x1080p. If it manages to do...
But since Morpheus supports full 360° rotation of the wearer it would make sense to stand... Move-Games also 'required' standing. Since VR and Move will pair nicely I don't see that you will play everything sitting down.
That would be 120-half-frames, thus 60 full frames. Should be totally possible with only small hits, or even without hits with optimization. The games right now are first generation games.
But as far as I know, both the Oculus and the Morpheus use a shared 1080p-Panel, meaning, that each eye sees only 860x1080p, thus it is sufficient to render 1080p@60fps which is already possible. They only need to stabilize the 60fps, then we can expect graphics just like we have them now in Killzone... with a little time games will easily look at least like inFamous and still reach 60fps - of that I am certain.
Head rotation and tilt is in the device. Moving your head left or right, up or down needs the camera, just like occulus.
I am ok with the store prices. Not happy but ok. What really ticks me off is that the US will get a free upgrade to limited edition content at no additional cost. In EU, where you pay more for the game anyway (and don't tell me it's all taxes) they take extra money for the dlc stuff...
Also the larger games tend to have prerendered cutscenes. I am betting the cutscenes in inFamous will be real time thus saving space.
Daylight supports Real3D, so I am going to have to buy it anyway. If it was free with plus that'd be great. But I can't see why you would have to leave the console on for a game not out yet.
The Order: 1886 Preview: This could be *another* reason to own a PS4
Fixed it!
You should. It's great!
Weird review:
Gameplay: 9/10, Graphics: 9/10, Writing: 7/10, Sound: 8/10, Overall: 7/10
Basically: gameplay, graphics and sound mean nothing.
Also, it's full of SPOILERS.
I really liked Remember Me a lot. Sure it had it's weaknesses but I feel that reviews were way to harsh on it.
It sure is but there always needs to be a trade-off: more details or more frames. They obviously went for more details and for third person action adventure that seems to be the right choice for me.
I'll wait until they show gameplay but I am guessing the amount of effects and the graphical quality that they will deliver is way more than we have seen in any game before, and way more than the PS4 could handlein 60fps with it's GPU. From the kind of game it seems to be I prefer visual quality over framerate.
While I liked Killzone 2 and 3 more, ShadowFall is far from terrible.
What? 'Reduce challenge requirements'? I was playing this since release at least 2-3 rounds each day and am almost done with the leveling of all abilities. Now they reduce requirements? All this precious time :/.
