MP in DS2 was really a throwaway feature. I think the game in itself was very good. Having Isaac talk like many fans requested was a rather poor decision in my opinion. Combined with the higher action part and the 'i am familiar with this'-part it made the game somewhat less scary. For me it was easier to project myself into the voiceless Isaac of the first game. I think the first was definately a better game but the second wasn't that far behind. It was still among the best games...
I'd be pretty happy, if they released real sp-dlc. You know, like 3 to 6 months after the game is released and completely seperate from the main story line. Not have an sp-addon announced 2 days before release and have it in store 2 days after release for 10 bucks like it is very soon going to be for all big games.
For me it's kind of lame that my Uncharted will later sit at platinum and 45% because i will not have the mp-dlc, but at least I congratulate ND for their ...
Well let me guess, ND will release 4 map packs for multiplayer and 3 skin packs in the value of 45$ - that is according to their Fortune Hunter Pass - already available in the US-PSN-Store for only 25$. If that isn't a steal.
Unless they bring sp-dlc i can hardly see myself go 'balistic'. I really love the Uncharted-sp-experience but the mp is not for me.
Can't say i noticed it in the German store but with the waves of DLC for all the big titles i wouldn't have bothered to read the ad as i automatically assumed that it was DLC. I don't think i am the exception here but the more people saw it the better. I hope it sells well.
All i am saying is that they should probably have put the 'standalone'-part in big funky letters everywhere, but again, i admit, that i didn't watch inFamous news very closely, so maybe it w...
Probably true, but how many gamers check the playstation blog on a regular basis and how many watched the E3? Even though i am one of the few who do, i still didn't know, but that's probably because inFamous related news aren't usually on my radar. I didn't buy the second part yet but intent to later. However, I stumbled upon the fact that it is a standalone title yesterday and immediately bought it. I fear that it will miss a lot of potential customers that don't realize ...
I think they failed massively in marketing this thing. Until yesterday I did not know, that this was a standalone title. You do not need inFamous 2 to play this 3 hour (roughly) campaign.
Mine was sent on Wednesday already. Still only received it today. Friends of mine had it since Wednesday and obvioulsy already completed it. Now I have it here but can't play anyway - cruel world :)
How I completely dislike those misleading headlines. Nolan North says he doesn't want to be asked because he is not Drake but just an actor playing Drake and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to ask which actor should play the actor playing Drake...
Limiting SP-Functionality via a pass like that is stupid and annoying. So lets say i want to play the game again in 10 years on a new PS3/4 - the old one just broke down. Maybe the PSN-Servers ae down or they moved to a completely different infrastructure. So, even if i had activated the original code in the beginning or even if i had a brand new unused code i couldn't play the complete SP because the game has no chance of knowing... I'm fine with the MP-stuff. I won't play old ga...
I'd buy that for a dollar - or 60 even...
You're right... All improvement he can possible have is less interference when using component cables and maybe, just maybe, a tiny little improvement in texture loading speed. Anything more will require code-adjustments. Even if you can slap in a better graphics-chip that - by miracle - is completely compatible with the current one, only faster, you would get less tearing and less lost frames... everything else requires improvements to each individual game-code.
Yeah, even when i watch a movie i constantly think: 'Damn, why can't they move beyond the totally unbearable 1080p pixelated mess - below 1440p it's just not worth watching.'
While i agree that a pc has more potential for higher frame rates, better resolution, better textures, better whatever... a game doesn't look great just because it runs in 1440p. Honestly, my monitor (24") can't even display anything above 1200p. In the end artwork is always ...
Well, after enlarging the standard rating symbol by - i don't know - 500%, there was still some cover-artwork to be seen. Glad they address this issue now... What a bunch of <appropriate insult here>
There are a lot of really good reasons in that video. The reason why i am not buying an X-Box is that my breakfast cereal has these chocolate chips in them - pretty logical too, right?
EDIT: Before i get downvoted for hating on the 360 - i am not. Basically when i bought my PS3 i didn't know anything about upcoming exclusives at all. I just wanted the system that could play Tekken - which was the PS3 back then. I am happy with my choice and all the exclusives it brought m...
Also i have not yet seen any loading time in any Uncharted-game besides the initial start. everything else is streamed or at least masked by cutscenes - proper cutscenes not some silly 'guy only walks three feet but we need a video for preloading'-ones as seen in some games... for the most part you will never realize Uncharted is loading anything.
I can perfectly understand your logic. It just doesn't work for me personally. When i mean loss of value i am not talking about sales price but personal value. Sales price really is irrelevant to me, but somehow my collection seems stained by the useless (after using) code pieces in the package.
I am not a big multiplayer-gamer so it didn't really affect me so far. In Dead Space i didn't even try the multiplayer. In Mortal Kombat i found it annoying and the trial ...
Probably because i am a collector freak. I keep all my bought games in mint condition. I don't intend to sell them but as far as i am concerned they are as good as new minus the shrink-wrap. From now on they will also always have a worthless piece of paper in them that has a completely meaningless code on them. And they don't have the same 'as new'-status. For me that devaluates the package. I don't care how stupid that sounds. It's like buying a car with a navigation ...
I always buy new. Still i think it's majorly annoying.
I liked them a lot but i still think that 'Tales of Monkey Island' is better - also by Telltale.
It is really kind of weired and I really don't understand my fellow PS3-owners. I buy so many games it is crazy. Probably way more than I should and I know a few people who do so too. I understand that with a larger amount of choice concerning quality-exclusives not everyone can afford every game but even so, the sales numbers seem like every PS3-owner only buys one game a year and this game is FIFA or some Need4Speed. It baffles me time and again. I still hope developers keep up the grea...
