Don't forget there are Australia and New Zealand, where Xbox 360 has been outselling PS3.
And there's an Asia outside Japan. The last time I read, the combined market of Singapore + Hong Kong + Taiwan + South Korea + India is actually bigger than Japan, and 360 is doing as well as if not better in those territories that tend to be hostile to Japanese products. (Singapore/Hong Kong/Taiwan are Chinese territories, South Korea is Korean territory.)
Now, if China...
whose stance is very different from Kotaku.
FYI, anything over 50% lead is a big margin.
I don't think MK_Red is a Sony troll. He prefers PS3, but he's not fanatical like the rest.
Apparently Microsoft treats retailers better than customers.
Shadowrun would be a good game *IF* it was bargain priced.
The big problem with Shadowrun is its lack of contents - that has been clarified by many reviews. Shadowrun has few online modes and few maps, and the game was asking for $60 when it first came out. GameSpot or GameTrailers basically called that "highway robbery." That's why reviewers bashed the game. It was asking for too much money for the pathetically meager content it offered.
Now that i...
The reviewer happens to be Doug Elfman. He's been a TV and rock critic for decades, and has won many awards and even including a Pulitzer for his articles.
Actually, "The Game Dork" is Doug Elfman - he's not exactly writing for Journal and Courier.
Elfman is an award-winning columnist and TV/rock critic for Chicago Sun-Times, and he got famous by interviewing with celebrities like Prince, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Luciano Pavarotti and hundreds of other celebrities and politicians. He's a mainstream journalist who just happens to be a gamer. He's just started reviewing games recently.
This is a survey of 1000 French gamers.
The local paper is called "Toledo Blade", from Toledo, Ohio.
There's no panel, or voting, or judges, or jury that make up this list.
I sorta knew when I tipsed this, the contributor - if he's a Sony fanboy - would want to misinterpret this as some sort of big, important list in his headline to mislead people.
@MK_Red: Yeah, you corrected the title. Ya, I know your preference is the PS3 over the 360 and Wii, but you're not a totally fanat...
Where's Too Human?
I know Sony has a habit/policy of denying rumors that turn out to be true... but that's not how Warner does things.
Different companies have different ways to handle rumors. Sony's policy is to deny a rumor - even if it's true. Microsoft takes the "no comment" approach. And Warner only denies it if it's untrue.
This *is* an official announcement
Warner has already issued TWO *prompt* denies in two days since the week started. They do mean business.
Here's an important point: Warner is not Sony. I know Sony has a habit of denying rumors that later turn out to be true. But thats' not how Warner conduct business.
Different companies have different policies on how to deal with rumors. Sony's policy is to deny a rumor - even if it's true. Microsoft takes the "no comment" approach. And Warner o...
then why aren't you playing UT3 on a cutting-edge $3000+ gaming PC to get the optimal experience?
So far all the reviews have said the PC version is superior. (Of course, you shouldn't need any review to tell you that in the first place.)
I happen to be a member of BioWare forums and pay close attention to what BioWare does and says. And BioWare has NEVER said they were working on a PS3 exclusive.
So please show LINK/PROOF to show me what EXACTLY BioWare had said. And don't show me third-party report - I want to see directly that BioWare said they were working on a PS3 exclusive.
Who are still very loyal to Microsoft.
Gabe is loyal to Microsoft - he still regularly stays in touch and hangs out with his ex-colleagues at Microsoft.
Asking a Microsoft fanboy like Valve to make games for PS3 is like getting a Sony fanboy like Naughty Dog, Insomniac or David Jaffe to make a game for Xbox 360 -- it's not gonna happen.
I'm more interested in knowing if KOTOR 3 (which Surfer Girl had said BioWare is working on) and Mass Effect 2 + 3 will remain as Xbox exclusives.
KOTOR used to be a flagship RPG series for Xbox, but LucasArts still holds the Star Wars license, and now EA holds BioWare, so that does complicate the situation for Microsoft.
He has certain credibility issues. Well, he has a lot of credibility issues.
But I just submit the story. Doesn't mean I agree with or even respect what he has to say.
It only considers American and European sales - but not Australian or anywhere else.
In addition, it starts counting from 11/20/07 - the *official* Mass Effect's launch date.
Microsoft's sales data for Mass Effect include worldwide sales (including Australia and Asia) *and* sales before the release date (i.e., when a lot of retail stores broke the street date - which was a huge deal if you remember.)
Now he has to rely on the VG Chartz he hates to defend the PS3.
Remember: Back in August, fresh after the first PS3 price cut, VG Chartz also showed that the PS3 outsole Xbox 360 in worldwide data... turned out VG Chartz was wrong. Not only the 360 outsold PS3, but by a decent margin.
