Developers are abandoning Sony and the PS3 because they were offended by Sony's arrogance in the past.
When the PS2 was the king, the developers had to put up with Sony's arrogance - but they remember the arrogance and the way they were treated, and they have no love for Sony. So when Sony lost its lead, they immediately turned their back on Sony. And now Sony have to "plead" with those developers to stick around.
Now, if Sony had treated them nicer i...
Developers are right when they say Sony was "arrogant" in the past.
In fact, Sony still is.
The proof is in the pudding. It's interesting that the arrogant jackass does not know that he's arrogant.
Activision is now the largest and most powerful developer in the world. Sony should be sucking up to Activision and not be so arrogant when it comes to dealing with Activision CEO, because if Activision plays hardball, the PS3 will suffer.
10. Legend of the Dragon (Wii)
9. Two Worlds (PC, Xbox 360)
8. Lair (PS3)
7. Soulcalibur Legends (Wii)
6. Vampire Rain + Bullet Witch (Xbox 360)
5 to 1... in part 2.
For Nintendo Wii, units shipped = units sold
BUT...
Nintendo is actually selling "rain checks" for Wii, so their units sold are actually more than units shipped.
The topic and summary basically came from the credit source, TVPredictions.com:
Here's TVPredictions.com's title for the article: "Samsung: Next HDTV to Offer 8x Better Resolution" - I just basically took that and clarified on it.
A touchscreen that uses a lightpen or stylus is still called a touch screen. And the original headline uses the word "touchscreen".
FYI, Adam and Morgan have actually played all of them.
But I still think Ultima IV to VII, Fallout and Fallout 2, Baldur's Gate II, and Planescape: Torment are far, far superior games - than anything Japanese could ever come up with.
For your information, I actually played Fallout and Final Fantasy VII at the same time... they came out in the same year. Final Fantasy VII failed to hold my attention long enough for me to complete it... the gameplay, compared to what the RPGs that were available on PC at the time, just seemed so lim...
RPG was originally invented BY Americans IN America, in the form of Dungeons & Dragons - probably even earlier. But it's AMERICANS who invented pen-and-paper, tabletop RPG, NOT Japanese.
Even Americans invented the original Computer/Video RPGs - in the form of dungeon crawlers like Akalabeth (i.e., the predecessor to Ultima) and Wizardry - based on pen-and-paper, tabletop RPG. That was even before Japanese knew or had played a single RPG.
TRUE RPG is about ...
A lot of games on the NPD November chart are not one month old.
Assassin's Creed. Super Mario Galaxy. Mass Effect. Etc. They all launched in the middle of the months. Most games that hit the charts launch in the middle of the month. But they still hit the charts. Assassin's Creed Xbox 360 version hits the chart INDIVIDUALLY.
beating analysts' expectation of 4 millions by year's end.
How is that not a "big" hit?
If the sales turned out to beat the most optimistic expectation by a million units (atop of the FOUR MILLION units expected,) then it's a huge hit.
"Unofficially", Uncharted was released earlier than the official street date and about one week before Mass Effect. (Mass Effect's broken street date is already taken into consideration.) So both had really been out for more than 3 weeks in November - I'm sure the sales made during the street date was broken was counted into the NPD data as November sales.
Mass Effect managed to hit number 6 on the NPD November chart, and Mass Effect is a Western RPG - a niche gen...
Miyamoto is more concerned with his own business than one of the hundreds of franchises on another platform.
He probably just assumed R&C was a PC game because PC games had always been the forefront of revolutionary ideas until quite recently.
Ratchet & Clank is not exactly a big hit in Japan.
I bet he has not heard of BioShock either.
The concept of a spherical world was espoused by Pythagoras - that's 570 BC. Probably even earlier than that. And many philosophers and writers have recycled spherical world way, way earlier before Insomniac and Ratchet & Clank.
Insomniac was just being an arrogant, egoistical prick by claiming they "invented" the spherical world.
Obama is a good candidate - I like him the best, but he's black, so realistically he has no chance of winning in today's America. Maybe in another 25 years.
In terms of market shares between October and November:
PS3 up 9%
Xbox down... 1%
However, Wii down a whopping 8%
Wii lost a lot of market shares because Nintendo couldn't make enough of them to keep up with consumer demands. Seriously, Nintendo is already selling as many Wii it can make. It simply cannot sell any more Wii - because it just can't make any more.
On the other hand, anyone who wants a PS3 can find a PS3.
This freakish sh!t beats Cell.
Now he has to suck up to VG Chartz to save the PS3 from embarrassment! Now that's just funny.
Here's a reminder: Back in August, right after the PS3 had the first price cut, VG Chartz' worldwide data also showed that the PS3 outsole Xbox 360.... and VG Chartz turned out to be wrong. Not only the 360 outsold PS3, but by a decent margin. Remember? Of you do. ;)
The programmings for PC and Xbox 360 are very similar. Developers can basically reuse most of the codes from PC for the Xbox 360 port, and that saves time and money.
On the other hand, the programming for the PS3 is very different from PC/Xbox 360. If a developer wants to port something from PC/360 to PS3, they have to redo most of everything, and that's very costly.
ON THE OTHER HAND, I don't think Atari will be around next year to publish the 360 port... it'...
