This really isnt anything special. Except for the small form factor of the case. Thats pretty cool for the PC crowds. I was hoping for an identical PS4 in a box with an available pcie slot for future proofing. Offering a dedicated GPU nearly identical is a tad silly. But if you had same gpu/4core 3.0ghz whatever all on same chip and an extra slot for future proofing.. then the on chip gpu can be utilized for physics or crossfire. Physics is something we really need more of.

X1's is clocked at 1.6, and OC'd because there was no room for more ROP's after using esram. This lack of ROPs is very likely the reason why they cant do 1080p. I'm sure some of it is memory related as well.

the esram makes everything problematic on the xbox one. The reason for desktop like heatsink. The ps4 being simply gpu/cpu may have more room to OC past original estimates.
Why is 1080p necessary? and that's per eye right? So more like 4k gaming if 1080 is required.

You really dont need much AA for the PS4, with viewing distance of 4-10 feet vs. 1 or 2 feet on PC. Also if you compare like hardware, the PS4 is doing great w/ mostly 60 fps. TBH I never played at 60 fps on PC, I would sacrifice it for higher graphic settings. It is nice to know that we are all on the same playing field on consoles. I patched Ghost's and started getting hard offs, and file system checks w/ PS3 disc but after (on ps4) the 1.51 patch that seized. Thank heavens, I have also experienced hard offs with PS homepage on browser, and holding down ps button while COD loads to check battery life.
Anyone else experience hard offs, and causes? ..makes me nerveous, but she just gets a lil bit warm is all. Cant be heat.
Some how this must be true for consoles too, even though there is zero mention of it. Stupid article. All turbo core is, is lowering the speed on dormant cores, and increasing core 1 or two. This creates more heat and the issue with heat and consoles is that the gpu is fine, but the cpu shared with the gpu cannot get very hot. AMD cpu's are good at around 40-65, but gpu's are good up to 120.
Nintendo sells gimped hardware at a profit. It has been good for them, (past) but not gaming. And the Wii U's future looks iffy because of it. I agree, cant wait to play Super Mario 3D World! Finally a good title!
Well the PS4 Camera is rated at about $20.00, and double your gpu power would be around $50 more. So if they had stuck to the idea of profit after 1 game sell & the console, could of had a kinect contender w/ dev support and very huge advantage over xbone. But more so be a competitor to STEAM. So lets say that they did not sell 1 Million units, and instead sold 500k. At .004 percent (.4 of 1 percent) failure rate would mean there would have to be 2000 complaints/returns. Sounds pretty damn efficient.

The difference between ps2, and ps3 was day and night. But the PS3 can still play games, just at a low-med graphical setting. PS4 is a big upgrade, but the PS3 can at least still run newer titles. "if the devs so choose"
