Because they know if they speak vocally about it and downplay it they can get a mob of loyal supporters to break out their torch and pitchfork to tar and feather anyone that says it's a great option, and demand Sony to never put it in their consoles cause it's dumb to have a choice. But instead invest hundreds of millions in a backward compatible streaming service and charge me for games that I may already own.

If it's true then great for PS4 gamers, this is my first Nintendo since gamecube so I've never played monster hunter. I'm looking forward to it. If it's as great as people say I think everyone should enjoy it. I can tell you I love the mobility of switch so I will buy it on there.
Yeah but it seems like they could have been working out long-term deals with publishers years ago and start a download service that could have grown over time. Netflix does it as does many music apps. It's a matter of negotiating terms and royalties, I don't pretend to know how to do it, just that I'm sure it could be done.

Gamefly and Netflix were basically the same thing in terms of business model back in the day, the difference is Netflix chose to grow and innovate while gamefly is content to let others do what they should have started.

There are plenty of articles explaining the lack of supply from Nintendo, the main reason being it uses alot of the same components as smart phones and they are competing with Apple and others for these. You should research more before making things up and sounding ignorant, which you do.
