The speaker in the controller is useful for splitscreen play. For example, if you're getting shot at, the speaker will ring gunshots letting you know you're being targeted. The other player(s) will not have to wonder if they're the one getting shot at because no longer will players have to share speakers for specific sound effects. Like Dmarc is saying, listening to your consumers is different than waiting till preorder numbers to drop. Remember, a business cannot profit without it's consumers and when a consumer's comments get ignored, they turn around because they're not guaranteed to get what they want as soon as possible. The reason why Xbox fans payed for Xbox Live was not just for the online multiplayer, but to access services that should of been available to Silver members. You cannot access Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, Internet Explorer, etc. unless you payed the subscription fee. PS3 fans don't have to pay a subscription to access those apps, nor do PS4 fans. The Kinect hasn't proven to be beneficial to real gaming in the last couple of years.
