I read some place that the name "Wii" is also symbolic. The name Wii as in western language "us" or "we" obviously, but the double "i" symbolizes the silhouette of two people together. Ironic, considering how hard it is to meet and play with people through Ninty's machine.
Sounds just like you socomer. Am I close?
"No matter how good you think you are, there is ALWAYS some one else better than you" and because of this I think single player is here to stay, one of the reasons I like SP is because in that mode of game I know I can be god-like, in multiplayer the challenge is always out there. It's good to have the choice, and if it were taken away I think a lot of gamers could loose interest.
Single player won't die, ever.
Still not sure if I want one of these, I'm sure the support for it will be alright but given the speed Nintendo update the Wii (with Wii ware & retro titles) I'm not sure it's worth buying as soon as it hits the shops.
You sound just like me! In fact it could have been me that posted your comment! I too waited to see how the Xbox worked out, and the 360 and passed the same judgement.
What can I say that you haven't already?
I do like my PSP but it unfortunatly isn't getting the attention it deserves from me in the games department. I like the connectivity between it and my PS3 though, because of that, I use my PSP as a TV nite-lite every night.
Come on Sony, get some life blood into it!
That for me was one of the best on PS1 & 2. I'd love to re-visit them all and maybe if they went right back to the story's beginning, as a bonus new game. Also, a re-made, online, Spy Vs Spy could be quite cool (I know that's going a bit further back than PS2) but probably never gonna happen.
But like the article says, I think we're a long way from seeing this technology in action. What I want to know is, where's my hologram TV? It's waaaaaaaaay past the year 2000, Tomorrow's World lied to me. ; P
I use the DS3 almost all the time but have to say, the first time I thought "this feels so comfy" was way back on the N64. The main stick being central to me and the Z-trigger just felt so right. I have double jointed thumbs though and use this as an advantage when I feel my thumb sliding with the DS3! By which I mean, if the DS3's sticks were a little concaved I wouldn't have any problems.
I don't see what this has to do with the Wii or gaming in any way, let's just hope nobody steals any taxis with a copy of GTA in thier pocket anytime soon.
Rape, sodomy and other acts of this kind are a little more focused than just spraying a high street with bullets. The reason Manhunt got such a negative response is because the "murdering" is focused and almost personal, like raping someone. I think you're coming from the angle that if there's enough exposure to a particular type of behavior, then that makes it ok. In which case it's about time we just let the terrorists bomb the hell out of your house and go "well, it's not so...
The whole thing your saying about all the other games from the Spectrum and C64 is dead on, and I have to say, my previous comments may have jumped the gun slightly. I didn't look far back enough to think of all those other games, although while the similarity of these in comparison to the console's offerings are quite obvious I think the reason the NES and Master system took off was because of the simplicity and speed they (the games) were accessed.
Having said that, in the da...
Forget it. Why don't you just kick me in the balls already?
Also, I didn't say I didn't like Mario 64, as it happens I thought that was the definitive Mario. I also gave Sunshine a wide berth, due to not ever having a Cube.
What I'm saying is that almost all the other Mario games FEEL like Mario games, except SMB2 and (IMO) Galaxy. I'm sure you already know that SMB2 started it's life as a totaly different game, all they did was change the player icons to Mario ones, I'm saying they could've probably done the same with Galaxy and nobody would be any the wiser.
When I say disjointed, I mean the level lay-out, there are very little solid areas to play in, which (to me) makes it feel almost kinda emp...
I know I'm opening my legs up for a line of people to kick me in the nuts here BUT, I didn't like super mario galaxy at all. As a mario fan since 1983, I've always found the mario games innovative and fresh, full of new ideas and (practically) THE inspiration for all other platformers, Galaxy however just didn't feel like a mario game to me. Maybe it was the camera's weird angles, or the dislocation of the space stages, whatever it was I honestly felt you could quite easily stick Sonic or Cr...
I was a secret sony ninja policeman. Then I could teleport people around Home an make them dizzy.
MMWAA HA HAAAaaa
Power! I had a go of this last night too and I've gotta say, it's the first game that's made me smile in a long time. I mean, "being" the wind? Whoever came up with the idea for this must be a pretty deep thinker.
Anyway, loads of fun and a fantastic way to spend an evening.
I could only get ahold of a 250gig internal at the time (I'm impatient) but coupled with my external HDD I've got about 430gigs to play with at the moment, and I've gotta say, it's definitely put my mind at ease about running out of space (for now).
I will say this though; if your gonna do this USE A VERY SMALL SCREWDRIVER! I just went in with a normal philips head screwdriver (due to my impatience) and buggered one of the screw heads, thankfully I'm quite resourceful, so I man...
You makea me laugh! It is still weird to me thinking about Sega & Ninty like that, being from the day's of "Sega's SF2's Megadrive version's better than the SNES version" days.
It's like seeing a hippo sh*g a dog!!!!
For me Wonderboy on the C64 was a bit evil, and when I found the hidden levels in Super Mario World on the SNES, they made me snap like a twig come 5am after repeated tries.
Also, The Lost Levels made me REALLY angry (broke my SNES pad) and right now, I'm working on getting the "get to zone 50 using only air-breaks to steer" trophy for WipeOut HD...
DAMN YOU ZONE 49!!!!
