So two years for first products on market, and 2016 seems like a reasonable date to launch the product to mass market, if all goes smoothly, judging by lifetime of previous massmarket optical medias.
CD's had a slow start, it were invented early around 1980. But didn't really take off for computers until Playstation came around in 1994, because cartridges and disks had so far been 'good enough'.
Things quickened up when a big hardware-company entere...
The main problem for gamers with letting the Other OS stand with the released Other OS-hack, weren't potential piracy - it were that some people would be able to run unsigned code while using GameOS, wich were the hackers intentions, and what he proved he could do.
So if you were playing CoD4 online on PSN, you would soon be encountering people who had revolvers wich had the same blast radius as a grenade. Or people with hunter-grenades grenades wich would automatically...
Look at number 10.. A 3D-demo.
I've not seen much of either game, only the E3-demonstrations..
But from what I saw there, I thought Killzone 3 looks much better.. :-/
Especially the water in Rage looked really bad - they can easily fix that on PS3 tough, by going to Insomniac's Nocturnal-page and download the source-code for Resistance 2-water tech, that is fantastic. :)
As for the tech behind the games, both are no doubt impressive, Killzone 2 prooved it's worth, ...
Uncharted is a really good singleplayer-game, with fantastic characthers, and a good game-story wich managed to bring that Indana Jones feel to the player wich the developer aimed for.
So if that were what he based his opinion on based on the hype he have heard of Uncharted-franchise I could see where he is coming from.
Uncharted 2 however, is probably the closest thing I've seen to a game with no flaws, for it's time.
All the same stuff wich were ...
The pub fund is a different type of deal - than XNA.
This is something Sony made, to make it easier for new studios to break into the industry, and get their product out, with less financial risks - when self-publishing.
The basics are that, Sony will match the developers cost dollar for dollar, in order to get the product to market, and in return Sony get a 6 month exclusive PSN-window on that game (either a PSP- or PS3-game).
When the...
(yeah, I only read the headline)..
More then either of the other two platform owners Microsoft supports PC gaming...
----
That's not correct at all, why give credit to someone who don't deserve credit?
There are _no_ PC game-studios amongst the MS-studios, and they don't publish many third-party games either..
Since 2007 there has been no PC-release at all from Microsoft of any retail-title..
The only upcoming titles wich they have announce...
SCEE confirmed that with the Mini's, if you wanted to play them on your PSP, you didn't have to be online while playing.
You just needed to go online once with the PSP so it could register your PSN+ membership, and then the PSP would check the game's license against that.
I would think it's the same on the PS3-games. :-)
This is a content-driven service, and obviously Sony will need to pay the content-providers. :-/
So if a publisher wich isn't Sony, is the one who provides the 'free' PSN-title one month, that publisher will still get a percentage of the money from the subscribers this month.
The ones who provides minis and PSOne-games will also be paid, but probably a smaller percentage of the subscription-pool.
Same with Trial, DLC and Avatar-provi...
The litle girl had her hands upside down compared to what the video showed when playing with the tiger. :-/
From 1.3, to 1.4..
I've read that our old PS3's HDMI-port has been software-upgraded, to use the same standard for 3D, wich is in 1.4.
But maybe they upgrade the HDMI-ports on newer PS3-units, to proper 1.4 ports.
That's my guess anyway.
Sure, we may not allways have enough time to play it all.
But it's s allways good to have more choices of wich games we want to play... :)
Not that I have the numbers ahead of me right now, but I believe Assasins Creed, might be a more sucesfull new IP this generation, if we're looking at PS3/360 atleast.
If we include Wii in this generation, there is a few new japaneese Wii-titles wich is much more sucesfull aswell..
However, Gears-franchise might be the most sucesfull new IP wich is exclusive to the 360.
When I saw the pictures the first time, I just figured the sequel were set some time later - and he had grown some hair and beard, or changed his hairstyle if you wish.
You know like real people do.
Very few people go through life with identical hair/beard.
The demoscene comments are pretty far off..
Alot of people in the industry come from the demoscene, and they work on all platforms.
The dude who makes the music in Assasin Creed and Hitman, Jesper Kyd, is a famous demoscene musician..
Some of the people who worked at Linger In Shadow, have their dayjob in Criterion wich made Burnout, while demoscene-group Plastiq wich mad Linger in Shadows, is hobby.
The DICE-founders wich is the studio wich made Battlefiel...
Very few peeps buy a console for one game..
But most consoles have alot of good games.
There's allways some good promotions going.
Just check PS-blog/promotions frequently.
In Europe right now, you get 10 free games with the PSPGo, if you register your PSN before September, I believe.
One bad one, Avatar, but the rest are pretty good.
You can only join the Helgahn - if you have 3D-TV and 3D-glasses (as simulated by the helmet)..
lol.. that might push some more people to buy 3D-tv's - the hatred for Rico, I mean.. :P
(It's a joke, I'm not expecting that will be it)..
I like Kai from Heavenly Sword too..
Fantastic characther, would be awesome if she'll get her own game..
Both PSP and PS3 has those buttons.. :-/
