when it comes to the Jak series I thought 1 was really good and 2 fell short of what it was trying to do in a lot of ways and jak 3 did what jak 2 tried to do just executed much better making it right up there with the first. So yeah Jak 2 was my least favorite.
As a HUGE R&C fanboy this “writer” is off his rocker for claiming anything in the game was bad, but I myself was a little disappointed by the game. When the reviews were hitting claiming how it was ratchet returning to greatness and things like that Inwas super hyped but it turns out most “games journalists and media” just haven’t played most of the series and were completely lapsed fans. All of the ps3 ratchets especially a crack in time and even the budget game Into the Nexus were REALL...
My sadness for this is the same as my sadness over Cyberpunk being first person, which is bittersweet. Yeah one of my favorite parts about souls games is the enjoyment of playing them co-op and pvp with my little brother and roommate, and I heavily prefer role playing a character in third person like in the Witcher 3, BUT these are two of my favorite developers and they have EARNED the benefit of the doubt to be creative in THEIR own way to create their vision in the ways they think it will b...
Yeah, the gameplay looks really nice and all but the game seems kind of soulless to me. I was really hoping to see a hub area with nice characters that seem really unique and cool or an enemy that had some sort of hint of personality. Really just seems like Destiny: Dark Void. Was hoping for more.
I'm with you. Up until dark souls 3 they were constantly letting us know what they were working on even sometimes before the previous game released. This last bit of silence since dark souls 3 is pretty strange for them especially is they have 2 or 3 games in development like i've heard. It's like the calm before the storm, can't wait for e3 man!
I swear I see more articles and comments saying people need to stop comparing games to dark souls than I see people actually comparing unwarranted games to dark souls. most of the time people are still getting mad when you explain mechanics as being souls like like in the new God of War. Dark souls style combat is just the best way for me to describe a lock on/strafe methodical melee action game. I understand people rolling their eyes at meatboy being the dark souls of 2d platformers or somet...
@nodoze Yeah, as someone who really values cool settings, tone, characters and stuff like that I absolutely loved the order and think it was a great starting point that they could add more mechanics and systems around. Really hope Sony decides to save them from having to make more Deformers-like games. I still believe this studio can thrive with a big budget.
All of my friends and I are in the same boat with the ps4/pc combo. It seems to be pretty common. As a huge insomniac fan I really want to play Sunset Overdrive though but can't justify it for one game. Really wish they would put it on PC.
You're completely off base here... Battle royale is still completely blowing up it's far from slowlu dying. Wait until they announce numbers again. And of course they aren't going to be as worried about the mode nobody wants to play 😂
It’s as if everybody forgot that when TLOU was coming out violence was shown heavily and everybody loved it. The gameplay reveal showed Joel smashing a dudes face in and later blasting a dude in the face with a shotgun who was begging for his life... and the crowd went crazy. Violence is the world of the last of us and it is the reason all of the warmer moments are so affective.
Add war elephants to that list! Such a fun game. Very Witcher/horizon inspired!
I think the bottom line here is if a dev doesn't prove to be profitable enough to a publisher they become the next visceral. It isn't just about money in pocket as much as job security. This is a dog eat dog business after all.
Not sure why you are downvoted but that's completely true. I still haven't been able to find mine at retail or online yet. Hope I can before xeno chronicles 2!
I’d find it a hilarious mistake if it was the other way around too. Glad I can laugh this stuff off lightheartedly rather than tensing up and getting defensive over a companies typo.... I’m betting Phil Spencer gives less shits about this than you’re giving right now :/ Remember it’s just games my friend!
The lack of originality was exactly my point. But these games are most resembling battle royal, you don't play as slaves or gadiators or I would have brought that up. Your points should be without mention. Everything is derivitive. There are no original ideas, just creators spins on the past. Battle Royale had a spin PUBG didn't. I mean they've even eluded to the connection by adding Battle Royale costumes lol. Not sure what you're trying to say.
Let's also not forget that thay are literally lifting the idea straight from the Japanese book/film 'Battle Royale'. If his idea was more original from the beginning I might get behind him 😂 for those who have played it, is fortnight any good??
Get ready for it to overheat after a year....
I gave you an upvote for the cringeworthiness of your comment 😂
The combat is still a little clunky. Let's hope for some improvement.
I like uncharted 2 better as well. I always thought that in contrast of the last of us being a masterclass in the story/characters/world areas, Uncharted was much better when focusing on set pieces and over the top action. Uncharted 4 was good but it tried to converge the two and wasn’t what I wanted. Nolan North is great but I always felt like Nate and the rest of the cast were kind of intentionally bland so to make their characters the focus felt off to me.
