You only need 10Mb for a great quality HD session on OnLive or Gaikai. Even 5mb works decent.
I appreciate many people myself included can't even get those speeds, but that will change in a few years.
I think this is the perfect time for such tech to come to market, just when we are entering the stage where it is becoming more and more feasible for an ever increasing amount of people.
Lol ! Apparently the GPU is at 2GHZ and has 10Gb VRAM. Yeah, whatever.
I agree with the reviewer. The car handling is worse, and the tracks are very boring. The demo was insultingly shallow, a figure of 8 track, really now ?.
I think 6/10 is accurate, especially if you were a fan of other DiRT games - this is probably going to disappoint a lot of people.
Because this has had 4 years of research, and the accuracy is from software and algorithms devised by a mathematician that were previously unsolved. It is also patented.
Microsoft can't just buy better hardware to make Kinect 2 as good as this. They can however, buy them out.
Carmack is right. I don't know why everyone expects 60fps. There has always been this trad eoff of quality and framerate. Some developers prefer framerate, such as Polyphony Digital and Infinity Ward. Others prefer quality, such as DICE.
This is not going to change much with next gen. Some developers will still prefer maximum visual fidelity at sub HD resolutions and 30fps than 1080P 60fps with lesser visuals.
Until Sony or Microsoft force a minimal resol...
If I had a pound for everytime someone said they worked at Rockstar I would of made GTA5 my damn self.
Take Two financial estimates for this fiscal year claim $2.25 share price which means GTA5 will release March 2013 at the latest. They also have two games themselves releasing in October.
2013 is likely.
I cant wait for Max Payne 3 either. But its an extremely odd thing for them to announce just 5 days before previous release.
When games go gold they take weeks to produce and ship, it's not something you change 6 days away unless there is a problem.
Does this not strike anyone as a little odd? Rockstar didn't even produce RDR for PC and GTA4 was a terrible port. Since when did they care enough to not only launch a decent PC version but to do it with an expensive worldwide simultaneous release ?
This seems like making the best out of a bad situation, such as the game not being ready for American release, for example.
These streams are compressed video feeds, they always look a little soft and will never, ever look as good as playing the game on normal gaming PC until they send ultra high bitrate streams, minimum 20megabits a second. More like 40megabits a second (Roughly BluRay quality)
Thats going to require a 100Mbps fiber service to run easily. No one has that. And it doesn't end there. Such a service would enable every device to play top end games, people are going to be playing C...
Always has to be some lame low life site every time a AAA game comes out that gives it a crap review to be controversial and get hits.
Its pathetic.
Yep. Geometry actually takes up very little. Thats why Just Cause 2 is so huge yet is smaller in terms of gigabytes than GTA4. Cutscenes, Audio, Textures take up the most. And in a huge island like in JC2, alot of those textures are reused.
This only affects 360 users. PS3 users don't need to worry because it'll fit on one BluRay disc easy. PC users don't need to worry even if it is 100GB. You can get 3TB HDD's for £100.
Assuming GTA5 is 50GB (Which I doubt it will), thats £1.60 of storage space. Lol..
It is an issue but one which is rapidly changing. If you live in the city in the UK you are fine, you can get 40, 50, even 100Mbps service and 10ms ping or less. In the countryside you get 2Mbps service, and 50ms ping which is fine for online games but NOT services like Gaikai and OnLive.
However, our government has created BDUK (Broadband Delivery UK) and issued money grants to local authorities. With my local authorities grant, they said they can get 30Mbps broadband to atl...
Blizzard, Valve and Rockstar are too cool and too big for E3.
These guys make their own parties!
I know TDU2 was technically a dissappointment, but me and a friend are car lovers and clocked up over 100hours each on that game. I would love a good sequel.
I hope Forza Horizon can deliver a similar, yet far better experience.
The Social Club has had a huge revamp and looks somewhat more useful now. It is actually reminiscent of Battlelog for BF3, yet without the server browser.
But god i hate GFWL. I'd be utterly embarressed if I created it. It's so shit and broken. In F1 2011 me and my friend have to create a standard game, exit it, and then start our CO-OP championship for it to work. If we try and join our own co-op championship to start, it disconnects us..
I'm no...
Anyone that watched the GTA5 trailer would realise they have kept the best realism parts of GTA4 and yet are bringing back all the fun stuff from the older GTA's.
Metacritic of 95+. Mark my words..
Awesome. The RTS genre has really stagnated, games have barely improved graphically since the original CoH 6 years ago. And that games still one of the best!
Really can't wait to see this. Just PLEASE don't try and bring it to consoles. I want my non ported PC version with real PC graphics.
It's tricky to solve with high speed objects. The faster something is moving, the more it 'clips' the only way to solve it in real time is run the physics simulations at a faster frame rate.
