What do you want? Was Halo 3 just another FPS? All it was was Halo 2.5 with Forge.
Did he preview Gears 2? Is that just another TPS?
And what was so "innovative" about GTA4? That game wasn't even as good as San Andreas if you ask me.
These people drive me crazy when they place and project their own expectations for what a game should be into their reviews/previews and not take a game for what it is.
Killzone 2 doesn't have...
Remember, all we saw from MGS4 for 4 years was that damn Middle East level and come to find out, that level was nothing compared to the rest of the game. I'm sure they will have different levels and environments in Killzone 2 they're just not showing too much at this time.
I must admit, the game is looking really good.
Off-topic flamebait. REPORTED!
Because the game ain't coming out for another 2 years... and that's a longggggg time from now. By then, Sony's install base in the U.S. could be higher than the 360s. Or they could be dead in the water, with the 360 firmly implanted as the system of choice (behind the Wii of course). Or either Sony or Microsoft could strike a GTA4-like dlc deal which could sway gamers one way or the other.
Here's my closest guess - In the U.S., more sold on 360 due to the install base (even tho...
Worst... interview... evarrrrr.
But the game looks good. The environments are kind of bland but maybe it's just because I've seen too many Killzone 2 videos recently. The grfx and environments in Killzone are sick.
...it just may be a troll lol
I think knowing the 80GB was backwards compatible drove a lot of the sales for that model. This will just be the same 40GB PS3 upgraded to a 80GB drive, which is more storage but still no bc. So I'm not sure how consumers are going to react to that. I feel better and better about my 60GB PS3 every day!
I agree mostly with your statement but Bioshock has a lot of value for PS3 owners due to trophies and Home integration. If it is one of the first few games to provide trophies and use Home, trophy whores and curious Home users will be all over the game for that.
But yeah getting MGS4 is useless for Microsoft at this point.
I'm not sure if they are buying exclusives anymore, and if they are, it probably ain't much. I think it just makes business sense for 3rd parties to go multiplat nowadays. They are spending so much on development costs that it makes all the sense in the world to maximize the amount of copies of games you can sell.
Calm down there brother lol. Square made a business decision. There are 5 million more 360s out there in the wilderness which means more moolah for them if they go multiplat. Most third parties will probably go multiplat from now on. You, my friend, have problems if you are that emotionally connected to a company lol.
Nice move by Microsoft. But let's think about this for a sec... this maybe prevents a gang of 360 owners from making the leap over to the PS3. Sorta like GTA4. But does it "tip" the balance over to the 360 in terms of the console race? Please. Most people who would buy a Final Fantasy game already have a 360, a PS3 or both. All this does is prevent defections from the 360 camp. Now there's really no reason to switch from XBOX to PS3 other than Blu-ray. And that's not enough to convi...
That's how I do it - much faster and a lot more stable. Depending on your connection, it should take about 5-15 minutes tops (file is about 120 megs)
It's going to take more than a fugly chick in a mo-cap suit and a demo to get me to fork over 3 bucks.
I'm no apologist for Sony but what they said was that AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE all games FROM THAT POINT ON will MOST LIKELY be required to carry trophy support. They also said that it's UP TO THE DEVELOPER if they want to patch old or existing titles. Some websites just can't resist the urge to dump on the PS3 every chance they get.
My take: Why should a developer be forced to patch something they did months/years ago? Maybe they have moved on and have better things to do. It...
I had to do the same thing with a few firmware updates. It would freeze at the end of the download process. After I cut off my PS3 and cut it back on it was fine. Since then, however, I just download from my PC onto a USB and do it that way. Never had any problems after that. If you need to know how to download it onto a USB drive, read this:
http://www.us.playstation.c...
This happens to me from time to time with firmware updates. Usually happens if I had my PS3 on for too long or if it took forever to download the update due to my slow ass DSL service. Anyway, don't be scared, just turn your system off and turn it back on. It will prompt you to continue installing the firmware.
Who disagreed with you?!? That's funny lol.
@Drekken
Yeah the update is worth it, I personally like "Endless" mode the most. Those damn red triangles piss me off! SSHD is definitely worth the price. Very addictive.
Too bad it's fake. Time to take VG247 off of my "credible" video game sites list. Typos and a Sunday release = INSTANT FAIL!
Shouldn't it be all 3 that underwhelmed? They talk about how Sony and Nintendo underwhelm but then go on to state NOTHING about what Microsoft did. All they said was this: "...but did not appear to significantly alter their overall strategies in the fast-growing game market, as Microsoft did on Monday."
How did they "significantly" alter their strategy? Weren't they trying to court the casual market last year too? If changing the dashboard and getting Netfli...
