This game releases at the end of November. Why is a demo coming out July 3rd? That's almost 5 months before the release. Is this more of a Beta release? When was the last time someone was so psyched about RE that a timed demo made any difference?
Honda, Toyota and Nissan have teamed together to lock the ignition of any car not started by the original owner. In an attempt to encourage car shoppers to buy new, the 3 companies have worked together to create a key that can detect the original owner's fingerprint identification. If the fingerprint is not recognized, the car won't start. This is in direct response to all those used car dealers making money when it should be lining their pockets. Since they don't see any prof...
I hate the point system. The very fact they made the dollar->point translation confusing is a cheap ploy to confuse you into buying something that you think is cheaper then it is. Most veterans have the hang of it, but when you are new to XBox Live, you have to sit and figure out. Ok, 1600 points is not $16.00, its really $5.00 for every 400 points so 1600 points is $20.00.
There's no logical reason for their point system to follow how they structured it except for ...
Why don't 99.99% of us shoot people in real life? Because we have to live with the guilt, we know it is morally wrong, we risk going to jail, we might have to face up to it in the afterlife (if that is your belief), we know it devastates families and friends and probably 100 other reasons.
Do any of these reasons factor into our decision making when deciding or not to shoot a colorful grouping of pixels with ones and zeros for a brain? Sorry, but you can say all you wan...
One of my favorite games this generation. No surprise part 2 was coming, just needed to know when.
My Mordin was the only character that died on the final mission of ME 2 and the one that I most wanted to live :(
@xabmoi - Those aren't good analogies. A better analogy would be Samsung provided you with a software feature on their new TV model that allowed TV fanatics to get into their system to tinker with the innards of the TV, but some idiot in Wisconsin took advantage of this feature and figured out a way to tinker with it to give everyone who used this feature free cable. Samsung then removed this feature so no one would exploit free cable. 99.9% of the people that use the TV are unaffected...
It's a waste of time to interview execs and talking heads for the major console makers. They aren't going to give you the behind closed doors talk you are hoping for. Of course MS knows the core is not into Kinect, but they sold a ton to the casuals and are pandering to that market. As Nintendo found out, that market is more like a sprint then a marathon. They like it for a short time, buy a game or two and then move on to the next big thing. Core gamers are gamers for life and w...
How bizarre to have the media sign a wall saying they agree it wasn't on rails. Why not just show video of the game to prove otherwise? Molyneux is a bit too sensitive when it comes to fan reaction. He wants to please, so he over sells, then when it backfires, he admonishes himself for not living up to his own hype. Then the cycle starts again.
I never understood why they need to demo it live anyway. Who cares if the footage is recorded or not. Why take a risk of doing it live in the first place?
Hasn't Rare been gutted over the years? I think they are just Rare in name, not talent. Most of the talent is elsewhere starting new studios or absorbed in existing studios.
I have yet to see a developer use Kinect to "improve" the game experience. The only exception I would say to that is Dance Central. Add Kinect functionality in areas that I can't do with a controller or is too clumsy with a controller. I can cast magic with a controller just fine. I don't need to use my hands. I can shoot a gun with a controller just fine, I don't need to point my hands at the screen and open and close my fist to shoot. I can select my dialog optio...
As creepy as the Milo tech demo was, there were some really good Kinect ideas in there. Passing pages into the screen, affecting water with your hands, tracking expressions. Why then does the new Fable fall back to the basic wave your hands for a spell, move your arms to drive your horse? None of that is using Kinect to make a better game, it's just using Kinect just to use it.
A publisher needs both new IP and sequels. The game industry is built on sequels. That's the whole goal of any new IP. Get an engine and base game built and use that codebase for a trilogy. Makes sense financially. However, you can't have a sequel without an original, so if a publisher is just putting out sequels, the well will run dry.
Yeah, funny that not a single new Wii game was mentioned. Almost like they gave up on it and putting all their eggs in 3DS and Wii U basket.
I thought it was strange they never showed the console, but there is supposed to be a new console. Maybe it wasn't at a point they could show it? The controller has no ability to play games away from the console. They made a point to say that it is not a portable gaming machine, it takes all its data from the console, so if you are playing on the small screen, the console is streaming that to you.
This might be Nintendos first misstep on a new offering. The DS and Wii were great successes from a sale standpoint. This looks gimmicky. I can see some really good uses for the remote, but is it enough to draw the crowds back in? The best thing they have going for it was to include Wii in the name and not change the name entirely. This will ensure alot of sales on name recognition alone.
What is the battery life on those remotes? Recharge every 6 hours when the scree...
Ironically, it will be those on foot segments that they are counting on adding depth to the game that will kill their score the most. Who wants to watch canned segments where you press a button now and again? That's not interactive, that's just annoying.
Looks good. Have to see the gameplay outside where they say it opens up into a hub world. Not really an open world, but more of a semi linear experience where you can only explore the open hubs until you open up more of the world.
Yes, it borrows from Uncharted which isn't a bad thing, but Uncharted borrowed from TR when it first came out.
If there is one thing I've learned about the gaming public is they can be a very loud voice and they rally behind their cause. MS would never create a system that limits the play of used games. It would be the biggest misstep in gaming console history.
