You've got to remember though, they're probably busy trying to get rid of all the bugs from the previous engines...
at the very least, they could have improved our character animations.... 4 years in and we#re still walking like robots ????????????
I completely agree with you with the points of the intel, I'm playing through again and this time actually reading it andit is divuldging alot more information than I expected. The one character who had a family which he broke protocol on 2 occasions to see and such, this should have all been brought up to really bring the new approach to the story.

split screen would take amuch greater toll then that. it'd wouldn't just run to images that are the same. it would run two sets of physics lighting ai and all the rest. NOT just 2 images.
personaly i think that both were really good games, i do agree with many in here about the first being better for the single player. i feel that in the first they really tried to keep you involved in the story of the attack on britain in relation to their invasion, which gave the game this really dark tone and no matter how well you did they still kept spreading.

Don't forget this is merely one location from the game so far. Just compare the first and second chapter from Killzone 2, completely different aesthetics

They've been available since firmware 3.0 after last years gamescon
just because it's open world environment doesn't mean it's anything like GTA.
Try to think of the game as a open Max Payne, Alan Wake or Uncharted. A game which is driven along in a dramatic plot, grounded in a sense of realism.
