No it doesn't. Kz2 ran on an engine that allowed for 100's of dynamic lights to be placed around levels.The particle effects look alot better in KZ2, but they are much more limited so yes Crysis gets that, the textures on the Console don't look better IMO than KZ3. But yes, clearly the scale is greater.
You show me a console version video to show the better Crysis 2 particle effects and then I'll be willing to believe you, but so far I'm inclined not too, ...

I do agree that they did try to do things differently, but I can't help but feel that some of their reasons behind the changes is why it wasn't quite the sequel that alot of us had been greatly hoping for.

you've got remember that this isn't an open world game. It's an open world environment with a focused narrative and fairly linear structure. In interviews when asked about side missions and such they stated that when they were coming up with the ideas they just put in the ones that worked to enhance the story into the actual game.
