It is called humiliating begging.
Some how people thinks Sony is responsible to help the competition with their small user bases.
Before asking that question we should ask this question...
Is the Switch / Xbox alliance good for Nintendo business? Or for Microsoft business?
Nintendo will punch Microsoft in the face in any moment as each company must defend their own business first.
The only common thing that Nintendo and Microsoft has is that they are loosing by a lot against Sony in a way that it looks like there is no Competition at all for Playstation.
Facts
- There is no such a thing as "future proofing". The article is out of reality to start with.
- 2 of 5 of the studios adquiered were already making games for PC and Xbox. No big change.
- 1 studio acquired is mediocre, Team Ninja is a good studio but under Microsoft is another story and the Initiative doesn't even had a team formed yet.
- Getting new studios does not instantly translate into big success and great quality games ...

Microsoft and Nintendo are teaming up because of their small user bases.
Microsoft must be called here as an hypocrite because last Gen they refused to crossplay while they were dominating US market but now they critizice Sony for doing THE EXACT SAME THING THEY DID!

This is totally assuming that the content is going to be good which you can't assume.
New studios does not automatically translate to good games.
Nowadays there are too many definitions of what is "winning E3". Many people creating new categories to accommodate their console of choice and the sense of E3 is being lost.
For me, E3 is about games. What games you have in the short term and long term.
Sony had an horrible presentation format but it had the best games.
Microsoft had a good presentation format with multiplatform games and the same old tire cycle Halo-Gears-...

Xbox gamers are the one who should be worried about Xbox brand as the console is trailing even being the Switch.

Very sad story.
I don't want any intrusive Xbox stuff on my Playstation ecosystem. I understand that when you are surviving in the market you need to do things you may not like to survive. Sony is not on this position so it doesn't need to help the competition to survive.
It is called the weakest systems trying to survive. Not that Sony knows anything about it.
So is Sony's fault that Xbox and switch user base are so small?
Grow your user base with hard work and good games... Not begging the competition to open their network to you.

This is not anti consumer because Playstation owners are not asking for this. Non aystation consumers are the one asking for this.
Sony is not responsible for the flops of Microsoft. They does not need to help Microsoft AT ALL!

Good news to me but if many people was turned away by Dark Souls difficulty then even more people will not give this a try.
I am ok with it thoug.
Too sad this is not helping Xbox at all. Even Nintendo is selling better without any of these things.
