Despite all efforts and all strategies executed, Microsoft was unable to change the fate of Xbox this gen. They should start focusing on next Gen.
It is a good point of interest to see that in contrast, when Sony was destroyed last Gen with the PS3, they did managed to resurrect their console and turn the tides. They produced many amazing exclusives games and the gem 💎 The Last of Us.
For me it makes sense and here is why...
Last Gen Microsoft Lau ched the Xbox 360 1 year before the PS3 and that gave them a head start and help them be #1 in USA.
Microsoft may try this strategy again as it helped last Gen. They know they don't stand a chance if they release at the same time as the PS5.
That makes sense.

Sadly, they are just relying on Sony to help their camp as they cannot rely on their own camp anymore.
But but but they told me Sony is doomed for not helping its competitor Microsoft to grow their small user base with cross play.

Sorry but I don't see where. Playstation is unreachable for them. Nintendo Switch is doing better. They are not winning any NPD in their own territory. The competition has more quality exclusive games.
If by "hot" you mean loosing in the market then I can agree.
The problem with the plastic is supposed to be the reason but I don't know if there are enough cases out there to really call it a problem.

How is it this is not helping the Xbox brand at all? How is it that Nintendo, without this subscription model and with an underpowered hardware is selling more than Xbox?

Let the beggars keep crying for cross play. Sony knows that's not what makes you the leader.
The cross play subject is being used by the competitors who are loosing just to attack the company who is dominating.
Is very ridiculous, but since these companies cannot compete against Sony face to face they will look at anything to attack.
