Guys, don't trust the same fool who thinks that Left 4 Dead looks better than Resistance 2. Alan Wake may be up there with the crowd of good looking games, but those other two games don't do justice to your comment at all.

Homicide, I see what you're saying but the majority of the Gears 2 publicity came from its popular multiplayer offering that everybody went wild for. And in the reviews, none of the media outlets mentioned any issues with the online portion of Gears 2. As an overall package, of course Gears 2 edges out most games thus far, but don't tell me for one second that Gears of War doesn't share the very same issues Socom was plagued with during release.

Agreed. I find it funny how Socom got so much flak for its networking problems but Gears 2 around the same release got a free pass from the media when the game was virtually as unplayable as Socom. I swear, sometimes Sony just can't win against a one sided gaming industry these days.

I'm not trying to start a debate here so lets let the two games be great together and not get into some stupid debate. I'm just noting an observation of mine.
Same logic applies to any given platform or newly released tech. The 360 was considered outdated the second it was anounced to sport the same format as a Playstation 2 and lacked built-in wi-fi and the ability to render games in 1080p native, but here we are and 360 is classified as a next generation platform.

There's no need to take that tone with me, as I'm not trashing the 360 at all. I'm simply pointing out the author's inability to come up with a proper list of exclusives. I would say the same thing if a list as poor as this one emerged from some crappy website regarding any platform.
There's nothing wrong with having an avatar of a series that's been on almost every platform, so calm down and evaluate your accusations of console loyalty before you start throwing them around.
I'm absolutely confident the PS3 didn't contribute to the terrible level design, poor voice work, generic dialogue, and horrendous pacing. Not to mention forgettable characters and a story that doesn't quite come together throughout the game at all.
