I'm very confident that this will be an Uncharted 2 situation in that most people would never suspect multilayer to be a smart implementation into a story-driven experience, but it completely shatters people's expectations. Or at least I hope so.

Sometimes it should be less about the games and more about Christamas spirit. Square Enix has class, I must admit.
Though that is your opinion, I believe there are far better multiplayer experiences out there right now. Gameplay aside, MW2 has many issues. Need I mention the hacker-prone infrastructure, excessively laggy P2P networking issues?
I think they gave noobs way too many tools to abuse the game to their advantage. And I'm not talking about networking prone to lag switches, or exploits allowing unlimited ammo, instant 10th prestige, and ranked private matches.
It's all the little things.
The introduction of death streaks.
The overpowered noobtubes.
The increased incentives to camp due to the insane emphasis on killstreaks.
Dual wielding shotguns that can fire across the map.

I cannot believe that you can just stand by and find this lackluster year acceptable. PS3 fans sure as hell didn't take this kind of treatment in 2007 and look how far it has gotten them - PS3 has the three highest rated exclusives this generation and numerous other fantastic games backing them. You can sit there and pretend like MS did alright this year, but you'd only be lying to yourself.
Thankfully, 2010 is looking up for the 360. But lets just hope that the rest of the year ...
I still remember to this day in Call of Duty 4 when I fired a single deep impact bullet from my M14 hrough a wall long range and got two people in the head. To this day nobody believes me, making me all the more angry there still isn't some type of universal recording feature on either next generation console.
Had this type of tech been incorporated, we would see all kinds of crazy things.
I find it amusing that GT had to throw in their desperate little "though Modern Warfare 2 nipps at Uncharted 2's heels," comment. They just had to sit back and accept the fact that hype isn't everything.
Modern Warfare 2's 5 hour campaign is nowhere near Uncharted 2. Nice try though GT.

Couple the photorealism with the silky smooth 60 frames per second and the fact that it will run in 1080p native, you have a real winner here. Not to mention just how many highly rendered cars are on track at once with not one hitch in the frame rate. Hopefully PD eradicates some of the screen tearing found in Prologue.

But if I were to think that way, Uncharted 2 would be the only game I would play :)

Either way, I think you should rethink your methods of pointing out hypocrisy and actaully cite a specific example of it if you truly want anybody to take you seriously, instead of just crying "hypocrite!"
Yeah, I get it. Because we all know that Microsoft actaully having a white board in their office with a ton of Playstation franchises on it that they want definitely isn't playing catch-up either. Would you say that the loss of exclusivity of FF13, MGS, GTA, DMC, Resident Evil, Assassin's Creed and Tekken were predictable to? Because I sure would.

As I said in the article, with the announcement that the premium services will be in addition to the build we've been enjoying for years, there's no need to fear. (Sorry for the rhyme hehe)

Gamespot has officially won my respect back. After that R&C review debacle and the Kane & Lynch shenanigans, I never though I'd say this, but they're my top major publication now for the first time in years. I like how they weren't afraid of being different from most of the other choices out there (Uncharted 2)

This single handedly makes a sequel entirely possible. I cannot wait to see what From Software brings us next.
