If you are frustrated with Nintendo, you are a real gamer who remembers how ahead of the game they used to be before they turned to gimmicks and double digit sequels.
"It is only recently that TVs cheaper than $1,000 could play back content at faster frame rates like 60fps" - You write for a tech website? "Nintendo could release a dock if they wanted to" Again are you sure you showed up for the right job? Kotaku is on the fourth floor you're in the wrong office. Every argument made here was made for the Wii U. That turned out well.
Based on some people's reactions I think this is what they heard. I heard gimmick, 1 full first party launch game, and Skyrim
Goes to show how much they care about the western market where over 60% of their sales come from. Mistake #1. They could've had a big reveal in NYC.
Gears of War runs at 60fps not 120. Anything above 60hz on a TV is just a marketing gimmick and only useful for the smooth motion effect which gives me a headache.
Why did Nintendo pull the Wii U from stores? All Best Buys in my area mysteriously had all their Wii U's vanish.
Third party ports of games released on PS4 and XB1 will not be good. Look at Wii. It sold like hot cakes and the biggest games of the time, the Call of Duty franchise, got really shitty ports that ran poorly because the games were made with 360 and PS3 in mind. This time the effect will be even worse because development will gradually shift to a focus on PS4 Pro and Scorpio. They need 3rd party exclusives which won't happen unless there are lots of sales. There won't be lots of sales b...
They've said "premium price" when asked. It's gonna be $499
They spent more time on this story than a single player campaign for the game
It'll drop more in Jan after the announcement.
$60 is steep for essentially 2.5 old games. $40 would've been a better price. Nothing was done to the game besides a bump in frame rate/res. A true remaster of the first to fix some of the dated controls would've been awesome.
Not really. Think of it this way. The native 4K games on PS4 Pro are like if I set up a 4K camera, filled the frame with a really crisp 1080p TV, and recorded gameplay on the TV. The image is 4K but to get there it is using the exact same texture, shadow, and detail that the 1080p version is using. The only difference in the case of the 4K version is that the anti aliasing will be much better. When they say 4K on PC I'm assuming they're running everything at high or ultra settings wh...
Then they should have given the CPU a bigger boost
It's not a console. Nintendo effectively killed their console division to make a primarily portable machine. It has the added bonus of being able to be played on the TV.
I wonder if companies have ever hired people who mod their games because of a particular mod.
Quite the biased submission history from our friend here. Why didn't you post the 6.5 review of the Last Guardian while you were on this site?
I could never beat the first game because my save right before the stupid bomb in the parking garage mission had only enough time on the timer for me to run to the mission start and not enough to collect food/weapons.
It hurts my hands after 15 minutes. Anyone have a case to recommend that makes it more comfortable?
Wow. Poor Titanfall... It was never given a chance
Isn't there a sticker on the back that is used to judge whether or not it has been opened? Maybe that was accidentally taken off.
