Get over it for Christ sakes! It's a flaw that can and most likely will be patched
How is this anything like those two games, especially Gungrave?
I just got back from a press screening for it at the Universal Imax. If you're going to see it, then you must see it at a imax thearte. The entire movie is in 3D and is pretty damn graphic for PG-13. Even if the game is crap (they gave Conan a 4, but it's actually alot of fun) I want to play it just because it incorporates alot of the battles from the movie

Also, he says the framerate is better for the PS3 while IGN says the framerate for the PS3 nearly destroys the experience. Are they playing the same game? Did one review a earlier build while the other had a retail copy?
Yeah, but look at games like Just Cause and Crackdown. You can fall from 20,000 feet in Just Cause and the environment remains proportionate and defined. Look at the surfaces in Crackdown. This is a cell shaded game but even it has better texturing than a quasi-realistic looking game like COD4. Look at the freakin mirrors/window reflection in COD4 and tell me they're not cutting corners.
They provide no depth to their reviews. Having three reviewers write a paragraph each of their take on the game with each reviewer basically recapping what the reviewer said before him while adding little to no true insight of his own experience is horrible journalism. Plus, if you ever heard one of their podcast or have seen one of their 1up shows then you'd know that they are quite cynical and somewhat pompous.
It looks a lot nicer than it really is does because of the 60 fps. It's surprising how much better a game looks at that framerate. However, most environments (some levels don't look so great) look great from a distance, but everything up close has a somewhat flat and printed-like low res texture look. Gears of War is still the best graphical showcase for the system, but I don't understand how these mult-million dollar games don't look as graphically impressive as some smaller budgeted games. ...
He at least likes the part I hate the most about this game, the matrix aspect. I hate dumb science (yes, I know it's a game), but a guy being held hostage by terrorist who are using his DNA to virtualize his ancestors bloodline (past/memories... whatever) is stupid. Just make me an assassin during the dark crusade.
I love them for whatever reason. I'm even getting the overpriced Time Crisis 4 coming out this month. Whatever happened to the arcade port of House of The Dead 4? I hope they port the Silent Hill rail shooter to one of the consoles.
I want to know if one of the consoles has a advantage over the other or if the game is identical on both systems
The reticle is pretty small so it's kinda hard for me to get a head shot in before 5 guys start shooting at me. The environment does give you some choices in how to approach a area but it's not a open jungle. Everything outside of the area is blocked off by tree's so you can't really explore. Tomb Raider is the same way, which is kinda contradictory to the games premise. I mean, you're suppose to explore and discover but you're led down a guided path.
The PS3 is region free at least so can you import them for cheaper. The asian versions of PS3 games are usually $45-50.
Ultimately they won't because they like screwing over ps3 owners like myself. It's crazy that importers want $80+ for one controller. Sony should offer somekind of switcheroo program since the controller casings are exactly the same. I mean, soon as the dualshock 3 comes out no one will buy the original sixaxis. Sony's just going to recall all remaining sixaxis controllers in retail and re-use the controller casings for the dualshock 3.
At least they didn't pull a "Demolition Man" and have the characters wear virtual sex helmets. Though it would be cool if the game had Barbarella sex organ death machines.

Hmm, If I ever get a chance to make a game the playable characters would be able to have sex with everything (typewriters, door handles, fluffy egyptian cotton beach towels, air).

There's some things in the environment that stick out like a sore thumb: the tall grass patches look awful, all the plants and trees are constantly swaying unnaturally and sometimes in unison, the path is extremely linear and uses tree's as barriers, etc.. Also, I don't like that the enemies can take a dozen bullets each, and the main characters context sensitive animations like jumping and climbing seem a little jerky at times.
What, from the first staged demo? I kinda liked it. It was more like brisk jogging, hehe.
