I don't care what ya say. I liked Tenchu Z. It wasn't revolutionary, but it's the only good Tenchu game besides the original
I've played through the first 2 islands and I'm completely burnt out on it. It's the same freakin thing over and over and over (the same trees, hills, grass, huts, ships, wood fences/boxes, enemies/allies, stiff and canned animations recycled x a million). Seriously, the game doesn't even feel finished (missing audio/sound effects, enemies teleporting if too close to a cliff's edge, combat is limited and weak with little satisfaction, horrible ally A.I. the main character really needs to lear...

I'm about halfway through it and I don't know what to think. It's just kinda average at best. Controls could of been a lot better (I hate the tank running and turning). The glaive isn't all that great (it isn't the showpiece they made it out to be). It's got some tearing issues, but runs quite well. The combat and enemies doesn't mix up much. However, I read that the PS3 version is only a prelude (50 puzzles). The PSP version, which is also out in Japan, is the full game (100 puzzles, multiple modes)

I'm still looking forward to this game, but everything they have shown after the original debut trailer (the 15min "in-game" trailer) has been somewhat disappointing. That original trailer is absolutely fantastic looking, but I guess it wasn't real in-game footage
