I've been saying this over and aver again. Sony doesn't need to drop the price. Let just say Sony will sell 7 million units this year at $399? At this price Sony either breaks even or makes $1(hypothetical). Ok ,if Sony had dropped the price to say $299 and sold 12 million units this year and lost $100 that's what most people would have wanted. If you owned Sony would you want to sell 7 million units without losing money or even making 7 million in sales or would want to sell 12 million units...
This would be cool if they added support for this to the PS3 like UT3.
I've been in the beta for about a month now. I'm not going anywhere near it tonight though. I'll wait til tomorrow. For all the people complaining, chill out. That's why its a beta.
Ok, so Braid beat LBP for best original game and Fallout 3 beat Fable 2 for best RPG. Yet Fable 2 got GOTY. Hmmm.... I 'm sure about X-Play.
One of the reasons that Sega failed and eventually stopped making hardware was that they panicked when the PS2 came out and they price dropped themselves out of business. It's true that Sony could drop the price but I'm sure they would rather make money than to just come out on top. Think about it, Nintendo got their butt kicked for two generations but because they made money on every system they were able to stay in business and now they are kicking a$$.
Luda is definitely one of the best lyricists.
I can almost guarantee you that this is Vista with some minor tweaks. They are just changing the name.
Don't get me wrong, I know that Sony and MS would love to create a game that could spark the kind of sales that the Wii has. What company wouldn't? But the Wii still doesn't prevent market growth for the PS3 or 360 because the people they sale to are totally different. If the Wii didn't exist the market growth in relation to the other systems wouldn't be as much as if Sony or MS didn't exist. There are only a few people who owned a PS2 or Xbox who are saying, "forget the 360 or PS3 I'm b...
Ask yourself this. Would the majority of the people who bought ONLY a Wii buy a 360 or PS3 instead if the Wii didn't exist? I would say no. I know a lot of people who have a Wii. Most of them would not get one of the other systems if there was no Wii. Therefore, there is no competition.
How about this, see All Pro Football for running and passing engine.
It's amazing how the people are dissecting the single player campaign on R2 and its receiving some lower scores because of it. Yet Halo 3 which had a very sub-par story didn't get the same treatment. I remember them actually making excuses about Halo 3's story. It's fine to pick apart the story but it should be the same for all shooters.
While it irritates me a little that the PS3 version isn't coming out with the 360 version I realize it's probably for the best. With so many great games out right now it would get lost in the mix. Hopefully it will be out by the spring which would be a great time. As for the audio, make it happen SE.
I think they made this article just so they can put Gears of War2 on top of a list.
I'm really sick of hearing about this. Sony's not going to drop their price and I don't think they should. The PS3 clearly offers more options than the 360. It is clearly a more expensive product with more expensive parts. For people who can't see the value and say they just want to play videogames then go get a 360 or Wii. Then when they realize all the stuff you have to buy to get the most out of the 360( a decent size HDD, Xbox Live account), they are not paying much less.
In the last 3 weeks I have seen far more PS3 commercials than I have far 360 or Wii. I was at a sports bar a couple of weeks ago watching a football game and I saw several commercials for Resistance 2 on the big screen. I kept hearing people saying "wow" and "that looks amazing". I've seen it many more time since then. I think they are doing far better than the last year or so.
That's just sad.
The original PS got a lot of the games that Nintendo had because of the forward thinking of Sony and they're decision to use CD. Nintendo decided to stay with cartridges and a lot of developers found that Sony's CD based system offered more. That's why they came to Sony. When Sony moved to DVD with the PS2 that was another incentive for companies to stay with Sony. MS doesn't really have that kind of forward thinking in the games market. What irritates a lot of people is that MS doesn't have ...
I just got my code but my PS3 died last week. This sucks man. It'll be November before I get it back. SH!T!!!!!!!!!
If the article is talking about now then no. That would be the dumbest thing for anyone to do. Every developer would have to cater to the DVD version of the PS3. The developers like Insomniac actually use up to 20 gbs or more to make their games.
I'm getting this game sometime next week. I've been waiting for some time off so I can dig in.
