Well it is. There is no misunderstanding with the first statement. It was explained it was 30fps because of it being CPU-bound and everything else was locked to the "same specs" to avoid "debate and stuff".
"Technically we're CPU-bound," he said. "The GPUs are really powerful, obviously the graphics look pretty good, but it's the CPU [that] has to process the AI, the number of NPCs we have on screen, all these systems running in para...
"We understand how senior producer Vincent Pontbriand’s’s quotes have been misinterpreted," - Yh like that was any misinterpretation when he said "We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff". Ubi please stahp.
"UM, now which console has the weakest CPU? Oh that's right PS4" - Which is why it offer has the worst performing version framerate wise right... The GPU is clocked higher on XB1 also yet it's 40% weaker. Clock speed means little sometimes.
And if it's CPU-bound it means they should be able to push GPU based tasks more like you know rendering pixels like a GPU is made to meaning they choose not do so in their own words because to stop "debate and st...
"And anyone who's not a complete retard knows that XO CPU is 10% faster than the PS4 CPU." - Says the person ignoring the fact Ubisoft has said they had no problems with the level of cpu performance on PS4 and that both have issues CPU wise.
That's without including the fact that the CPU has very little to do rendering a resolution in the first place especially when the game is CPU-bound. It's called a Video card for a reason. It's made to render pi...
@Death
Hmmm the fact MS has been trying to reduce the bad PR around framerates and resolution and Ubisoft here have admitted to going for parity which means no negative PR around power disparity in this instance.
"definately not people I want to be associated with when people ask if I'm a gamer."
When I certainly don't want to be "associated" with a gamer that is a spin doctor for every negative PR for a company ;)...
@Death
"The PS4 uses the GPU to perform tasks such as AI when the CPU needs to offload some of it's work." - Wow wow the FUD is strong with you. That is a completely lie. No where does it says that is what devs have to do and that is how the PS4 is setup. GPGPU can be used optionally if needed by devs to do traditional cpu tasks it is not a requirement in anyway.

@christocolus
And show me it states "sold to customers" please.
Kokatu's headline says "Report" meaning it's a rumor. In the comments the author also says it's "seems" sold.

"Yet no where in the article does it state the Xbox One was the console that couldn't keep up with the AI." - Yet no where in the article did it state PS4 has issues with the A.I. What's your point exactly here...
"We've seen enough games including Black Flag where a developer has no issue with releasing a game at different native resolutions across consoles. Why PS4 gamers feel this is different for Unity is rediculous." - Launch and now are d...
@Death
"What example do any of you have where the PS4's CPU is superior or offers better AI than the Xbox One? The developer clearly said that the GPU's are not the issue for Unity, it's the CPU."
- And? it's not like the CPU will be doing the majority of the work rendering the game at x resolution. If CPU is the issue that means they should be able to do more with the GPU.
"How narrow minded do you have to be to want na...
It's more done to appease to MS because it's reduced the negative PR around the resolution gate. Although, like you said it's a worse outcome because now they have backlash which could have a long lasting effect for some people, slightly less sells as people choose to not buy it new which can be made worse by word of mouth.
Maybe if they start tracking cough *guesstimating* china then maybe if not they would probably add it anyway. China numbers are shipped btw.
@Septic
What are you on about?
Azure isn't free for devs outside development. So if servers were to be used both would use them.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
Even if you don't believe this dev there are still no signs pointing to devs using dedicated servers on one console and not the other.
I mean you o...
"As of now, evidence points to a more successful season for Xbox One and Wii U; two consoles that are in need of a little help." - Really now am interested in what this evidence is because I don't see it.
@Death
Yh sure oh the while we are at it. The XB1's GPU is also faster (PS4)800Mhz vs 853Mhz. Yh means XB1 is faster!! /s
Don't why you keep spreading this fud. We have a benchmark that shows PS4 CPu has better performance -

@AdmiralSnake
Says the one who didn't read the news.
"We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff,"
OT - Well it's a double-edge sword because it still creates debate because of forced parity.
"Technically we're CPU-bound," he said. "The GPUs are really powerful, obviously the graphics look pretty good, but it's the CPU [that] has to process the AI, the number of NPCs we have on screen, all these systems running in parallel."
"We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff,"
- So forced parity. A shame they aren't using the extra GPU power on the PS4. MS would be pleased as thi...
*That is all I have seen. On the opposite I have seen plenty of gameplay impressions and even the recent tv spot ad focuses on it's social aspect like pretty much all it's other ads.

News just in people will talk sales figures in a sales figures piece and not start to be off topic by talking about an unrelated subject - Games.
