Not just 2 of the best PS2 games badz, 2 of the best games ever imo. Absolutely love GOW 1 and 2 and I'm glad I got an email from MovieTyme today to say they had begun processing my order...I'm importing the GOW collection over from the US to the UK.
Will be sticking with my console and gaming rig wired up to the switch I put in my media room router has to stay in another room unfortunately :(
Now as I say this, know that I am not some MS or 360 fanboy, my post history should prove that but here it is.
Sony did indeed say they were at 10m consoles in the PAL region during Gamescom but the PAL region is more than just Europe. That statement did not mean that Sony were at 10m consoles in Europe alone. Sony could have been at 8m or so consoles in Europe, with the rest of the PAL region making up the other 2m or so.
Miscrosoft mentioned their numbers in Europe...
Sony don't normally state Europe itself as a region when reporting sales numbers, they mention the PAL region which is more than just Europe, I believe it also includes the likes of Australia and a few other countries.
You're not an Xbox Live gold member, making those kinds of statements.

I could not have imagined how a game like Uncharted would do with multiplayer but they managed to deliver quite possibly the best singe player game ever and also managed to add a very good co-op mode and competitive MP mode aswell.
co-op in Uncharted maybe wasn't so hard to accomplish as there are always characters in those games that play a major role in the story alongside Drake. Although with that said I think co-op would be much harder to pull off with the GOW franchise.
I'll be waiting for something a little bit more official but if it is true then I will tip my hat to Nick McCandless of The Gamer Access
Pretty damn good review, the only real negative points in it were about old video that couldn't be or just wasn't remastered and CG cutscenes which may have needed to be recreated.
One thing I will say though is that the dev diary extras or w/e shouldn't be taken into account when deciding the overall score for the game which it seems this guy may have done.
Overall though it's a solid review and I can't wait to get my hands on these games and earn me some Kratos tro...
Look at how far in advance the GTA4 DLC was known to the public.
December wouldn't be too early for such an announcement by any means.
Not sure what logic you're talking about, since there are existing precedents of advance DLC announcements.
Whether this gift is DLC or not though remains to be seen.
Your major concern is which game has 14 extra pixels and 3 more frames per second in the odd place during the game?

Yeah the media format has nothing to do with this.
It's probably got more to do with the PS3 having a HDD as standard in every console but then again I'm sure they could have enabled some of those features if it detected a HDD in the 360 it was being played on...or maybe it does have something to do with the dev tools available like someone else mentioned....maybe a combo of all these things.
They can still play games offline on the banned 360's, just can't get online with them.
Now with that said, I think the majority will end up buying a new 360 rather than try to unban the console themselves so you'll see all those new consoles added to the 360 "install base". I put it inside those marks because install base is a term I don't like much for any console as lots of people own more than one ps3/360 etc.
I'm in the UK so have already pre-ordered this on MovieTyme. It means I can finally retire my launch PS2. The promise of trophies for each game and an enhanced visual experience for 2 games I still play even to this day is something simply too good to pass up.
God of War 3, FF13, possibly Heavy Rain and possibly Gran Turismo if it's a world wide release. I think there's another one or two games due that month also.
Pretty sure Sony never clarified if those pre-orders were just for Europe. The general consensus at the time among those of us with common sense is that the 1 million pre-orders was a world wide figure.

I'm glad I decided to not buy the game.
And to think they actually raised the price of it.
My only question is how the hell did they screw up with not having enough server resource to cope with demand, they KNEW how big this game was going to be which makes it imo a bigger farce than the whole SOCOM: Confrontation fiasco which Sony were dragged through the mud for. I won't hold my breath for the same demonising of IW/Activision on the gaming media.

MW2 will definitely be given GOTY by some gaming media outlets, as will Uncharted 2. Is there a single award though that is recognised on an international level for GOTY type awards?
