The free to play game that has already made millions...turn a profit? Sure. Nintendo didn't even make the game and they only own a third of the pokemon company. Niantic, made up of former Google employees started this up. Using viral marketing and social media to market this game. When was the last time you heard news casters talking about a new Pokemon game that they were playing on the news. The masses play what they are advertised to play. No one would give a damn if it wasnt all over ...
So every game should do this because every game is a business? Dark Souls sponsored by Macdonalds? Free french fry shaped greatsword with preorder. Estus Flask had Diet Coke in it with the "M" arches on it.
Think how much better Super Mario Bros. would be if It was sponsored by Good year Tires. You can have billboards in the mushroom kingdom and Mario will wear the logo on his hat.
This is F***ing disgusting. Literally luring children into a van with candy. Further commercialization of our lives and every waking moment. Even our presumed free entertainment isn't free of advertising. How about you just have a game you can go out and play with your friends? Does everything have to be whored out to the highest bidder. This game isn't making ENOUGH MONEY?
You ain't even lying.
I'm with Goldby on this one. Its pure marketing and viral advertising. People are blowing this game way out of proportion because its being tweeted about all over and people want to feel like they are part of a group, trendy and in the know. The whole "at least it's getting people outside" is pure rationalization. Its on the goddamned NEWS man, of course people would flock to it and its free on top of that. If it was $20 to start, no one would give a damn except Pokemon fan...
"put off by the Norse mythology". LOL!
Wow, the media really wants this to be a "Game Changer". Are people that desperate to be part of something big that they are willing to over blow it's position. It will die down..hard. You might see some clones, like any other popular cell phone game, that will dilute the "scene" and eventually no one will remember. This type of genre isn't even new. It's been done before but i have no idea how this got so big so fast. I hear it's riddled with bugs and has ...
So people that are tried of hearing about it should stop, but people that wont shut up about it shouldn't?
Depends on the kind of people you are talking about that are playing these games. If the start playing a game because it's a fad and "everyone is talking about it"..sure 1-3 months they'll stop.
Man, i remember being made fun of for playing Pokemon Red when i was 19 cuz its a "kids game". Now 45 year olds walking around like idiots playing a creature capturing game just because it's "trending". It's down right stupid.
However, i'm basically neutral on the game itself. No desire to play it but it does look pretty neat.
25% of people playing will stop in about a month, half in about 3 months. Mark my words
Wait..."balls" balls or you mean just balls? ;)
So Seth Rollins broke John Cena's nose intentionally in order to hurt him enough to win the fight, like in a real fight? or was it an accident that shouldn't have happened and Seth probably apologized to Cena for after the "fight".
Um.. you do know pro wrestling is fake right? I mean..the athleticism is real for sure, you need to be somewhat fit to sell the moves and you can get very hurt, no doubt about it. But its fake man, they aren't hitting each other for real, they aren't really mad at each other and the moves are all telegraphed either ahead of time or on the fly in the ring coordinated by the wrestlers themselves. It's entertainment sure and it can be fun for alot of people, but I just wanna be sure ...
Odin sphere on Vita is great, Mana has some issue with stuttering during screen transitions but otherwise a great port. Having a blast with both.
"Real Gamers" don't play games based on whether the console\game is popular or not, they play them because they like them and get enjoyment out of them. People still play Dreamcast and SNES games, but they aren't really gamers right? It may not be popular but that doesn't mean that it isn't a great system and isn't "still alive" with a ton of great games available and still coming out. There are Vita games still coming with 2017 release dates.
...
I looked up the word "Fanboy" in the dictionary and there was only a picture of this guy with a link to the podcasts...hmmm..weird.
You know..they can give you a code for the French fry greatsword..you dont have to bring your....nevermind..enjoy the game. :)
