Nexus.. You believed what Vesemir said pretty quickly.. That's not a very good thing to do. He's a random internet person. His opinion has no more truth than any other peoples. What if I said Microsoft is planning to destroy the world using it's money? Would you believe me?
They don't donate to avoid taxes. They do it because Bill Gates wants money to be donated. And has donated billions of his own dollars. Bill started and runs one of the worlds biggest and b...
Right.. Cause Apple's never been in any anti-trust lawsuits...
lol.
Apple has had plenty more anti-trust lawsuits against it than Microsoft has. And Bill Gates, who founded Microsoft and ran it up until recently, started and run the world biggest charity, The Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. Bill has become a very big philanthropist.
And of course past actions don't matter, this list is for how companies acted in the past few years, not in all their years.
Intel has been trying to screw Nvidia over for many years now, since Intel sees how Nvidia is taking over almost all of Intel's markets. So it's not surprising.
@Raven: No, but you do for converting video, doing anything in the CG industry, and of course playing games. Also it's just nice to have a snappier performing computer in general.
Not a console port. That implies the game was created AND coded for a console, and then had it's code and assets ported to the PC. That's now how it works with CryEngine 3. You make the game for all 3 platforms simultaneously and export to them all. Just because it says press start and has 3 graphic options doesn't make it a port. It also has mouse and keyboard options, something that wouldn't exist if the menu was just a copy of the console one.
Yes, but then the 460 can be overclocked so much higher, even to 1Ghz in some cases. Almost matching the performance of a 470.
Well.. Microsoft still does a bit, just not as much as OpenGL. Microsoft still has meetings with Nvidia and ATI about what is reasonable for them to implement.
@UnSelf:
The last part of what you said didn't make any sense... Did you not finish that sentence by mistake?
And yes it's old, but there's no point in disagreeing with it, or else that would mean you think he was being serious, disagreeing with his claim lol.
It's not meant to be super funny. It's just light humor. It's a meta-joke.
Wow.. Look at all the disagrees you got. Guess some girls on here don't understand that it's a joke.
GPU accelerated tessellation takes care of that.. Ray-tracing is irrelevant when it comes to that.
@Belasco:
Even if that was true, it would hardly make it "tragically flawed". But it's not true.
It doesn't matter what you bought the system for originally.. The point is that YOU BOUGHT IT. It is your piece of damn hardware now. So you should be allowed to do whatever you want with it in your home, and if what you use it for is illegal or legal is merely up to you. Just like with any other freaking thing you buy.
So no, y...
No, it's not actually. Many companies have already done it. There are quite a few semi-real-time full ray-trace engines out there that use the GPU. And Caustic Graphics specialized hardware does it in real time.
Intel is trying to please it's worried investors who see Nvidia gaining huge ground over them in many different aspects of computing. But this will ultimately fail unless Intel creates a radically new architecture more akin to a GPU, but still with the feature...
Uhhh, the ignorance of people posting on this story is immense..
The hackers aren't the ones stealing the games. They only opened up the system so that people can use what they paid for however they would like. Other people chose to use those exploits to enable backups, and that's their choice. You can't blame the hackers like Geohot for that. Just like you can't blame the manufacturer of a knife when someone gets stabbed.
No, it's the equivalent of telling the ignorant folks to stop harassing the knife manufacturers for making knives available that were used in a stabbing.
Some people use knives for bad things, others use them for good. You can't blame the makers of the knife for what's done with it. And the same goes for the hackers, you can't blame them for how other people use the hacks. It's completely unfair. All they wanted to do is give us our FREEDOM to use what WE ...
Yeah.. no. Stop being so ignorant. It is completely unfair to say all they want to do is steal and cheat just because some other people misuse the exploits they created. People like Geohot are GOOD people. They invest lots of time to open up the hardware that WE PAID FOR, so we can use it as we like. Whether we use it for illegal purposes or legal ones is a personal choice that you can't blame on the hacker. It's like saying we should blame knife makers for all the brutal stabbings th...
They aren't and haven't broken the law. And that stereotype of nerds being pimply and not ever going outside is ridiculous. You should show a little more respect for the type of people who make your consoles, games and electronics you use daily.
Government computers tend to be outdated pieces of shit, since they almost never feel the need to upgrade their computer, nor do they want to spend the money on it. Most government computers are notoriously insecure lol.
Keep re-iterating what other idiots have said, that'll do you good in life...
Perhaps you should try giving some actual reasons as to why Microsoft is so unethical. And actually research about the supposed bad things they've done. Don't just take other internet retards beliefs as fact.
