@Ranshak: Next step for GPU's is 28nm, and for CPU's is 22nm. Both of which are already under production and will be shipping before the end of the year.
While I agree with everything else you said, source actually isn't that easy to work with XD. It's merely popular due to the games that came out on it in the early days, such a Counter Strike and the Half Life series, which were completely open to modification for early game nerds like us :) It was a great opportunity to have a developer that was so open to the community modifying their content, even going to the extent of providing numerous tools and documentation for it.

@lategamer:
Development wise though, CryEngine 3 for example is VASTLY easier to work with. And supports simultaneous development for PC, PS3 & 360, without the need to code and compile different versions for testing. With Unreal, it nowhere near the same to make a cross platform game. There is a lot of conversion and code change work that has to be done to create a version of your game for another console with it.
Plus Unreal still has a fairly legacy in...
And that's when people take a stand. Games aren't quite the necessity something like Gas is. If Steam started to do bad things to try and control the market for profit, gamers would take a stand and boycott them. People can live without games for a month or two, it's not a problem. But a company can't afford to lose most of it's profits for that long.
This is a case of people not liking change. Our generation grew up loving our game cartridges/discs. Going to the story and seeing the awesome game boxes, bring it home and popping what looked so beautiful to us into our consoles and playing these amazing games, creating fond memories attached to them.
We have strong feelings attached to the idea of having these physical copies of games, collecting them and putting them on display. But honestly it's not worth it. We have ...
Very few people realize that USA actually has quite low on average internet speeds than the rest of the world...
http://www.technohugs.com/2...
So your point is a bit moot there. Most of the developed world is well ahead of the US in average and available/affordable internet speeds. I live in Canada and Shaw recently updated their service with 50 and ...
Her comment was even quite ironic:
"lol it the dumb blond."
A person should use proper grammar when calling someone else dumb.
Haters gonna hate. Lol.
If you do a little research about it, it's actually a pretty great controller system, and has a much higher level of accuracy than the Move/Wii+. If it wasn't for the cost I'd hoenstly buy it, it look like good fun with portal.
Well:
1. It's believed they don't live in North America, so that already makes it hard for action to be taken.
2. Anyone with this kind of hacking skill isn't connecting directly to the internet like an idiot script kiddy. They are likely using hacked hosts as proxies and various other means to cover their tracks.
This is handy for some people though. I have accounts on many of those sites, so I want to see if any of my passwords were leaked, because if they are then I'd want to change any account I used that pass on..
edit: Looks like mine wasn't :D Considering how many accounts these sites have, this is less than 1% of accounts.
I doubt there won't be shortage issues. It's better for business. The average consumer who doesn't know what's going on in the business side of things just sees the Wii for example being sold out constantly, making them think it's an even more hot item than they did before, increasing the want factor. These people constantly talk with other people about how hard it is to find a place that isn't sold out of Wii's. This was one of the Wii's biggest sales contribu...
Just because YOU don't care about something does not make it trivial. This is a serious issue if you actually take the time to read more than the title.
While I'm not disagreeing with the article, I'd just like to say there is a reason to pre-order often. That reason being that it's usually around $5-15 cheaper.
I keep telling this to friends who hear about the reviews: Duke Nukem isn't supposed to be enjoyed in the typical way an FPS game is enjoyed and rated, don't get into it expecting top of the line FPS gameplay. You're supposed to enjoy it for the adult humor and ridiculousness of the game. The same reason why the Postal series are great games, they are by no means great FPS games, but as an experience they are quite unique and fun. It's something fresh, away from the typical &q...
Much better:

^This type of TV uses the same polarization technique that movie threaters use now for 3D. So using those Real3D glasses from the movie threater with one of the lenses swapped allows you and your friend to see completely different images, doesn't matter the angle.
Not to mention there's no ghosting issues either. And those Real...
@just_lookin: Well you have to remember, with DX11 they are likely using tessellation, which means for many models you need an extra texture loaded for the displacement information. So it's going to take more RAM for that. Textures are the main contributor to RAM usage.
Listen to this, then see if you still think the same..

Lol. Shiny reflections all over does not equal good graphics. GOW3 was shiny, but the graphics themselves weren't that detailed and vast. Only on the main characters and bosses somewhat. Rarely does GOW3 have to deal with a ton of objects, geometry and complex lighting.
The Uncharted series has low res textures all over the place, take a closer look next time.
The fact you think Rage doesn't look good shows your lack of understanding about graphics a...
It's already in GTA IV.... This article made me /facepalm. The technology they are talking about is called the Euphoria engine, which was implemented for GTA IV, Backbreaker, Force Unleashed 2 and a few other games.

I think the article would be more accurate to say that now this will be a more realistic option for developers on the new consoles, since they won't have to wor...
