When it comes to plastics, Scotch tape is actually a lot better. And also cleaner looking cause it's clear.
Plus it doesn't leave behind as much sticky paste when you remove the tape. If any.
Well.. 500$ now actually..
And will drop within a month.

But yeah.. Price/Performance wise ATI is winning this round.
But Nvidia uses that money they earn from overpricing their cards to further advance technology as fast as they can. They do a lot of behind the scenes things most people don't hear/know about.
If this is true.. Which is probably is.
Then I'm sure a ton of people are happy about 100$ less then before lol.
It was a bit of an insane price before.. Now it's more along the lines of Nvidia prices. Even for a chip that's produced less per wafer.
Actually.. When it comes to the PS3.. It's the developers who are making games that don't look so much better..
It's take a hell of a lot of time to create very realistic looking games. And it also takes a damn long time to code something to fully take hold of the PS3's potential..
Most developers are still learning how to take advantage of the PS3's raw power..
While developing on the Xbox 360 is pretty much as easy as developing on the PC.
Yeah, The rest of the parts are perfectly fine.
Dual Core is a smart choice. Although the system you bought probably put in one of the most expensive dual cores, which is a waste. You only need the cheapest dual-core from Intel really..
8600GT's are pretty powerful.. But since it's 256MB, it's performance is capped and thrown down the sh!tter. lol.
Sorry you had such a bad experience with PC gaming man. But in life, any serious long term purchase should first be ...
I've said it before, and i'll say it again.
Trying to stop piracy is like trying to stop people from using drugs.
If a person really wants to, they'll find a way to do the drug. Just like they'll find a way to crack the copy protection.
Video Game consoles are what you would call a Closed System.
Yet piracy even happens on them. For the current gen consoles all you need is a Modchip to play pirated games on the Console..(Excluding the PS3, w...
Very good article..
Don't be swayed by the title people.. It's a very interesting read. And touches on some serious points that a lot of people blindly ignore.
I can't see this chip being below 300$ any time soon. Even a year.
One factor in it's higher cost, is because it's a bigger chip than usual. That's how Nvidia was able to fit over 1 BILLION transistors on it.. (1.4Billion to be exact.)
So it costs Nvidia a good amount more due to not being able to make as many chips per wafer.
Cheapest possible in half a year or a year would be 400-450.. If we are lucky lol.
It will be cheaper when Nvidia cre...
Nvidia is trying hard to take over the whole graphics industry it seems.
Which I'm fine with. Since they do make great products. Just a bit pricey :P.
If your a person who wants the very top of the line.. Then a 4870 is no substitute for the 280GTX.
But price wise it's a good choice if your on a budget.
Do you not have any windows in your room lol?
I would personally say, wait a month or 2 after this is released. The initial price for it will be very high. But it will drop quick also.
I doubt there will be an ultra. This card itself already is an ultra ULTRA UBER XXX chip lol.
Nvidia is working on a 55nm version for early 2009. But that's a long time away.
So.. Wait a month or 2 after it's released. And look for who has made the best version of the 280GTX.. You know (sapphire, asus, etc..)
Well of course.. To do good with PC Gaming.. It's good to gain some knowledge about hardware..
You bought an 8600GT that only has 256MB ram... That's suicide with a card like that.
If you had a 1GB of 512MB version.. Your computer would actually perform quite well on Crysis.. And look better than the current consoles could do.
Your PC will also play every game you put in it, if you keep the game on the settings your computer is capable of!!!!
That's because you got ripped the f*ck off lol.
You need to study up on parts and prices better.

For $1300 last year.. I could have built a high-range PC.
This is only one game....
It's not like hardware is going to stop advancing, and games are going to keep increasing exponentially.
These people are cranking a game that was made to be the most realistic game ever, To the max possible settings.. They are playing at way higher than HD resolution. With insane details and filterings.
The Nvidia drivers for the GTX 280 are still in their infancy also.. I'm sure you'd need only one GTX 280 to play these settin...
Wish more of the people who like to spout comments that PC gaming cost's $1000's each time to upgrade would read this <_<.
That's amazing.. If it truly can beat, or at least be around the same performance as a Radeon 3470, and for only 70$, then I'd definitely be interested in one.
If it truly can beat a 3470...and for 70$
I would be quite interested in getting one.. That's hella cheap for that performance.
According to N4G guidelines this goes in the Gaming section and the Industry section also!
It goes in Gaming because it has to do with 3DMark06 which is classified as a game. And obviously a test on 3DMark is about gaming performance.
It goes in Industry news because it's about how cheap it is compared to other cards in the Graphics card INDUSTRY.
MadTV Steve Jobs iPhone parody lol... So great. A must watch.

It's kind of a pointless benchmark right now.
Since any real good SLI drivers for it aren't ready yet.
