Wow, I'm guessing between preorders, the record breaking launches, and the impending Japan Launch in Feb, they've already met their 5 million by March goal. I don't think it's gonna slow down either. Depending on there stock supply, they just might sell another million in 24hours in Feb not counting Japan, especially once people see Infamous and Drive Club which I'm sure will both get great marketing being 1st party exclusives.

Your only looking at it from a very linear point of view. It's not accurate at all to compare launch titles especially ones that were rushed. Developers are still learning the ropes with PS4 and Xbox One and won't really start to have a handle on it until about the second generation of game titles. Sony should have made this game for PS3 or PS4. American Gamers are just ignorant. They'll spend all that money on Xbox One in anticipation for Titan Fall, a game that hasn't even been reviewed yet. It shouldn't come as a surprise after all Christmas is weeks away. I'm more surprised at the volume they're selling. The media would make you believe consoles were coming to an end, but looking at these launches I'd say demand for consoles is stronger than ever. Everyone I know is talking about PS4 and Xbox One even when I'm at work. I think once the REAL games start to come out for these systems, we're going to see another spark in sales.
It's beginning to look more and more like a return to the PS2 era, which is very welcomed in my opinion. That generation games were a lot more varied and there was more to offer for every kind of gamer.
