I understand where your coming from and agree to an extent, but with all the remasters their making for games that just came out on PS3 and 360 not even 2 years ago it's nice to see one of the older classics getting a proper facelift. Hopefully if the game sells well enough it could pave the way for more modern remasters of classics like FF7, Onimusha, Soul reaver, etc.
I agree with some points in the article, however Call of Duty Advance Warfare looks legit, and I would also take Zelda off the list. Everything else I agree with. A trend I have noticed over the years is it seems like the Japanese only know how to milk franchises now. Seriously what is the last original game any of the Japanese companies have made? It's like they're stuck in 1990's Super Nintendo/ PS1 era minus the innovation. That's just how far back those games go. Capcom ha...
Mass Effect is the kind of game that is easy to reinvent, that's why I'm not at all worried about it. Planet exploration is definitely something that interests me though. I'm hoping for a bit more of a free-rome experience with more emphasis on the political aspects of the game. Of course I want action but don't we all? I think it's the other elements of the series that really make it stand out above the crowd.
@JBSleek, seriously where do you have room and time to play all these systems and games? I can understand a PS4 or XBox One/ PC or Wii U, but all 4? Either you need to get a life or have entirely too much time on your hands. Heck I'm still finishing up Mass Effect 3 and the Witcher 2 and that's just on PC alone. lol
How can people disagree with this, it's true? Sony has games for everyone ranging from little kids to adults. From Little Big Planet and Knack to KillZone and Uncharted. It's ridiculous and annoying how much fanboys hate for no reason.
Lei and King for me.
Tekken 3 was really good but i thought Tekken Tag was the best. It was basically Tekken 3 but with the ability to tag in a partner. That little bit of added depth made a huge difference strategically.
I feel you. I practically grew up playing Tekken. Still remember staying up late on school nights, me and my dad would be up pass midnight playing Tekken 2. lol
Good to see you made it back Sasuke.
Squaresoft/ Enix is the prime example of what happens to companies that doesn't listen to their fanbase. Gamers have been on their hands and knees begging for them to do a Final Fantasy 7 remake for over a decade and they just blow it off. Instead they give us a CG movie ( which I actually liked btw ) , Verses, and remakes of the FF games that nobody really cares about. It's even more crazy now when devs are in remaster mode ( Tomb Raider, Halo, TLOU, RE4, etc. )Yeah sure FF7 is a old...
To be fair it is their 1st game on the PS4. They probably ran into some complications and decided it would be best to stick with a goal of 30 fps. You have to remember it takes time for devs to adjust to new platforms, not only that they are also on a timeline.
Nes, Genesis, PS1, Dreamcast, PS2, PS3/ PC, PS4/ PC.
Edit, wrong person. Sorry bout that.
Wow this is no contest. I think the gap in power of the two consoles is going to start becoming a lot more noticeable from here on out.
I always knew the Super Nintendo had better graphics but I just used to love my Genesis, especially when they came out with Sega Channel, games for days. The same thing happened with N64, I remember drooling when I 1st went to my friends house and saw Mario 64 for the 1st time. Then went home and played Crash Bandicoot and Tekken 2 on PlayStation all night lol. Those were just simpler and better times for gaming. Personally I think the internet is ruining everything.
Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, Metal Gear Rising, and Sleeping Dogs for me.
I think way too much is being made of exclusives these days. The bottom line is there is a lot of great games coming out, so what if it's on another platform. A great game is a great game. Mass Effect 3 was one of the best games ever made in my opinion and was on multiple platforms, does that make it any less special? Two games I'm looking forward to this year is Destiny and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Their not exclusive to any console and will still be a blast to play no matter ...
A gaming PC and a PS4 is really the best way to go.
This is just the very beginning of Sony's overall Vision of PS Now. People are seeing it as a rental service which right now technically it is, but in truth your looking at the prototype of PS5. Sony's trying to get away from the burdens of expensive hardware while also cutting out the middle man ( gamestop ) so they can start seeing pure software sales. I believe eventually how they want to do it is to have the full back catalog of all PS1, PS2, and PS3 available as a monthly service...
I think too many people had their expectations set way too high for the consoles 1st year. This isn't the 1990's when it was much easier to make 8 and 16 bit games on cartridges. Back then nobody gave a shit about resolution or frames we was all just looking for fun games to play. Now making a game is practically on par with making a movie. Budgets are much higher than they used to be.
