I doubt if any console can really thrive in China. Piracy is a huge problem in that country, and too easy to just buy everything bootleg.
I think Sunset Overdrive is gonna be great as well, but as far as sleeper hits go I don't think classifies as one. Everybody knows about Sunset even people who don't own an Xbox one like me.
I think it has a lot of potential but it feels like it's being rushed a little. They could have at least waited until Sony had it's online TV service ready and also more apps available for launch. Either way they better advertise it correctly if they want it to succeed.
I would say the title of "Sleeper hit" belongs to Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, nobody even saw that one coming. Even now people are still overlooking it.
This games been on my radar for a while. For one because I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings, and second because like you I don't fall for the hype of reviews either. But usually when games get consistent high scores across all review sites it's a pretty good sign. Not the deciding factor but just a measure to used to gauge before a potential purchase.
Funny how a game like Middle Earth goes completely under the radar with no hype to speak of yet completely outperforms all these other hyped up games that received millions in advertising support. Goes to show that the ones that talk the talk can't necessarily walk the walk.
I'm not denying that the Kinect isn't an incredible piece of tech, but people just don't care for it. The whole party game buzz for casuals that started with the Wii is over man. That's the drawback of dealing with casuals; they move on to whatever the next fad is. Meanwhile the hardcore gamers is the ones that keep the consoles alive. We're the ones that continue to support great games long after fads have come and gone. So on topic I think Xbox One has to win people over...
I don't get where the author's coming from. If anything Middle Earth slipped under the radar and didn't receive enough hype.
Far Cry 4 is yet another system seller. Personally I've been highly anticipating this game ever since beating Far Cry 3, both endings.

I'm happy with the success that PS4 is having but also I feel it's important not to undermine Xbox One either. A lot of the reason their struggling as much as they are is because of poor decisions made at the consoles launch. But i don't think it's fair to constantly dangle that over their heads considering all the changes they've made for the better. Coming into the holiday they have a very impressive lineup with some really nice bundles. So who knows, I wouldn't coun...
Why you gotta be mr. Negativity?
PS4 is selling extremely well for a 10 month old console. Looks like their going to end the year with over 13 million. Maybe 14 when you factor in Black Friday and the holiday rush.
I kind of wish they gave the option to set your own level of difficulty. I understand being difficult is the heart of the Souls game, but sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.
To each their own but for me till this day RE4 is still one of my personal favorite games of all time. True it wasn't a traditional Resident Evil, but it was great for what it was.
Wow, just wow. After that impressive gameplay footage they showed at TGS I can't believe what I'm hearing. Hopefully it all works out for the best.
RES 4 didn't ruin the series, it's the fact that the devs have been unable to properly build on it. Even though RES4 had more action than previous, the survival horror aspect was there and it was just a all around well built game with a great art style. To me RES5 was the beginning of the end. By the time I made it a quarter of the way through the game I lost interest. I wasn't feeling the storyline, didn't like the setting, didn't care for the characters, and most importa...
Is it wrong that I'm a PlayStation fan but still want to see Xbox One succeed as well?
It plays physical copies of Vita Games so it is a console. It just does a lot more.
Well Xbox fans might as well get used to it. The only games that will be 1080p 60fps on Xbox one is exclusives and multiplats that Microsoft pays extra out of pocket to reach that standard. Simply put because of the development architecture of XOne, 1080p 60fps may not become a standard until near the end of this gen. It's only going to become more noticeable in 2015 where the games are going to be much more visually demanding. That's not to say the games won't run great and s...
