Console wars are great for gamers. When M $ controlled the market last gen it set Sony up to reform their business model. Sony released a better priced, better performing hardware and had policies in place that gave the consumer respect. (Buy used games...etc.etc.) they have it if One person has ps plus on that console, everyone else can play online at no cost on the same console. They added shareplay that upped the ante on playing content you didn't buy, but want to try.
I really hope xbox division rallies soon. If this gen isn't successful enough in terms of profit, I think it will venture into software only. M$ is in financial trouble since their billion dollar losses on Nokia and they are banking on windows 10 to keep them relevant. If the company itself doesn't get it together in other sectors I fear their gaming division will suffer. I don't want that as much as I am loathe to get a One, the competition is good for all gamers.

I believe it will be 1080p and 60fps for both platforms. Just letting you know, last gen the way it worked for software updates on x360 was a spring update, then a fall update. 6 months apart. To me it's always been like that.
