The game is nothing like a souls game. Just because there are enemies, weapons that can be leveled up and the camera is in 3rd person doesnt automatically make it a souls clone.

Yes exactly so its fair to rank the game a bit lower since in the reviewers mind they took no chances like the first game yet want full price for it. This reinforces their view of it feeling more like DLC. 6 is harsh though a 7 or 8 would suffice especially if the game is fantastic.
Just because somethings a sequel doesn’t mean it can’t be more memorable. It comes down to how much of a risk the creators willing to take. Also there can be enough improvements (or mistakes) over the first to make the first forgettable.
Half life 2 is more memorable than 1
Return of the Jedi is more memorable than A New Hope
Dark Souls 2 is more memorable than 1 (for the wrong reasons)

UC3 was by far the worst. Only one I couldn’t finish. Looked sub par and was buggy in comparison to 2.
Just make your game with that one time online check-in bs if you care so much. Won’t matter when it’s sold if PlayStation’s servers deny access until a certain date.
