Yet, I'm sure that there will still be some people who wait for a price cut.
Exec A: "Hey, gaming is pretty popular now, right?"
Exec B: "Yeah..."
Exec A: "Let's figure out how to make it unpopular by nickel and diming people."
Enter the Era of Retro Gaming.
It's better in the form that it's in. The Walking Dead works because it's a side story, and the plot of the show enables that to be plausible. Breaking Bad is more character focused, and you lose that sense of character if you as a player are controlling them.
Harvest Moon will probably go to the Wii U, since it seems like the newer titles were exclusively on the Wii. There was the remake of Save the Homeland on the PSP, which really improved upon the original title, but other than that it was a Nintendo exclusive.
Persona 5 will likely come out on the PS3/360 in a similar way that P3 and P4 came out on the PS2 after the PS3 was already released. I actually hope that this is how it happens, as I don't plan to buy a new console ...
This cult of the voice actors makes me long for the days when voices in video games weren't possible. Sure, they're a lot better than the quality of VAs we had when voices were first possible, but when people make a big deal about them I think we've gone too far. If you're focusing on who the VA of a game is when you decide to buy a game, I think you're nitpicking a little too much.
Next gen/current gen SaGa game
Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3/PS4
Persona 5 release date
New Rune Factory for home consoles
New Red Dead game
Of course, Pokemon's always been popular. Japanese developers don't need to westernize or play to the CoD crowd to be successful. If a game is good or has a good reputation, people will buy it. FFXIII sold on reputation alone, but because it betrayed what made it popular, the sequels didn't do so well. I'm glad Pokemon keeps improving, yet still maintains what people like about it. That's how developers should treat their flagship IPs.
I played my first Tales of game on the Wii this gen. It may not have been the best introduction to the series, but it was enough to get me interested and I'm glad that they're becoming more open to bringing the games west. SE has opened up a gap in terms of their lack of RPGs on the PS3 and Graces F and Xillia have filled it for me.
Cave Story if you haven't played it already.
Great game, and it's hilarious too.
Unless MS had dedicated servers for 360 players of FFXI, crossplay between consoles has already happened, as I played FFXI on my backwards compatible PS3 for awhile, so I don't see what the big deal is. Of course it's all up to MS to allow FFXIV to happen on the Xbox1, but I think eventually they will, especially if they think it will help them sell more consoles.
I think I'll wait for awhile to go next gen too. If there will be more Tales of games coming for the PS3, I'll have plenty of things to look forward to while I wait.
Glad to hear that it's sold so much. It may be too late for them to bring the PS3 version of Vesperia west, but maybe this news will at least make them consider it.
I got the original Fallout for free from GoG and while I can understand its significance in gaming history, I don't think it's aged well.
The fact that the series has been successful for so long is a testament to the quality of Masuda's work. It's also proof that turn based RPGs aren't as stale as some might think.
I already have a 3DS and even though I was a little wary of the 3D effect at first, I ended up really liking it and leave it on for all the games I play.
The 2DS sounded like a joke when I first heard of it, but it seems like it has the potential to really take off and the price is good too. My only complaint is that I wish Nintendo would have made the 3DS and 2DS region free.
I can't stand this guy. What he said isn't a big deal, but seeing his mug resurface makes me lose interest in the Xbox1.
I actually don't blame Microsoft for this. SE said that The Last Remnant would be released on Xbox, PS3, and PC simultaneously, but because they used the Unreal engine they had problems with the PS3 version. The 360 version was finished so they released it, and then later came the PC version which improved some of the things that people complained about in the 360 version, but eventually the PS3 version was cancelled.
This is in stark contrast to the release of FFXIII, in...
I've heard that this game was bad, but I still wish SE had released it on PS3 like they had planned to. I would have bought it. I've probably bought worse games this gen, but I have no idea how they compare to The Last Remnant thanks to SE.
I'm glad Sony's actually considering releasing the PS Vita TV in the West. Peripherals of the past never even got a mention here before, and even though the Vita TV is more like a stand alone console, it's pretty amusing that Sony came up with something they probably didn't expect much potential out of on a global scale, only to find that people see it as a great addition to their PS4 purchase.
I wonder if MS or Nintendo will take notice. The Wii U's game-...
