Not surprised by the scores, as most Mario titles have high standards due to high expectations. Sounds like the consensus is that the speed golf is the strongest part of the game. Hopefully, online play runs smoothly.

While a new Advance Wars game would've been more exciting news, at least this will allow people to purchase and play these games if they didn't have a chance to before. Perhaps they'll use the sales of this to see if there is a market for the Advance Wars games to potentially continue the series.

While Nintendo's conference was the one I was most interested in, E3 as a whole was not as great as it once was. Maybe next year, E3 might be able to regain the excitement and anticipation it once stirred in the hearts of gamers, or it may end up sinking further into irrelevance. While I believe the latter will be the case, I hope it will be the former.

And the Middle East... and basically anywhere that isn't NA, which is why I won't be buying a PS4 anytime soon.

I never said that they were comparable, and it isn't good form to claim to know what someone would say to themselves when you don't even know the person. My point was that real journalism also has an ethics problem. The problem with addressing that, although it can and hopefully will be done, is that there is so much money and power, via political connections, involved in real journalism, which may hinder any effort to develop a real, unbiased, fact based source of news for the people...

Not exactly. The repetition of the idea that GamerGate is about ethics in journalism is the use of truth in response to the propaganda that has been repeated by detractors to the point that the only attention that has been brought to the issue is in relation to threats against women.

Demonizing your opposition is a quick and effective way to make them seem illegitimate. Is abuse against women a bad thing? Of course, but it doesn't mean that there aren't real issues t...

I agree that there are bigger problems in the world, but the fact that something as small as game journalism is not free from the hands of corruption shows just how much work we have to do to try to fix things in this world. We can try to start from the top with our governments, but I doubt we'd get very far, so why not start with game journalism and work our way up?

Ethics in journalism will not happen until we stop giving attention to those who refuse to have it. If we really want ethics in journalism, we need to support it by giving patronage to ethical sites and creating new sites to take the place of the ones that have failed us.

The same principles should apply to the larger problems we have in terms of journalism and anything else that we want improved. Sure, it may not be as successful or lucrative at first, but if it's done t...

There was no official spelling for any word in English until Webster's Dictionary, and even that took awhile to catch on. I don't think the differences between US and UK English are that great compared to the variants of French and Spanish.

In regards to Mr. Dotcom however...

"The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success." -Adolf Hitler

I guess those who are anti-GamerGate believe in such tactics.

Didn't another developer do something like this and it ended up affecting legitimate users too?

Knowing what I do about the guy who did this, they really need to put him in prison and throw away the key.

Square Enix, like a lot of other companies (Capcom) is cashing checks based on their legacy. Sure, there are a few great developers working at SE and Capcom, but the real visionaries that lead to their success have long since moved on.

The funny thing is, those same developers who left have since moved on to make great games for other companies, like The Last Story and The Evil Within. Those same game mechanics that were declared "tired", "old fashioned",...

Age ratings are like MPAA ratings for movies. They inform parents of the content of the games and if they decide to let their children play it, they can.

Believe it or not, there are psychological effects that result from exposure to different events at varying ages. I'm not saying video games or movies cause people to commit crimes, but kids are prevented from seeing and doing certain things for a reason. Some may get into those things anyway, but kids already grow up t...

When would e-sports show up in Olympics?

After the closing ceremonies and everyone leaves the venues. It may actually be a good idea though. They're always wondering what to do with all of the stadiums they build to host the Olympics, why not have a game tournament the month after?
