I'm betting it will be a mass appeal/casual MMO/social MMO and nothing hardcore.
Nearing. Every moment that passes is one moment nearing release... in 2013.. :/
I have this native 1080p on the PC already. It isn't much prettier than consoles. :/
I think it has more to do with so many people invested so much time in the game already that by the time a new decent MMO came out it is daunting to think of spending that much time and effort in a new game starting over from nothing.
I'm really hoping they are set to be released sooner rather than later. And that it is true about just how powerful they are supposed to be. I want to build a new rig but I'm waiting for these cards to launch.
I love this game personally. I am a subscriber.
I actually like the feel and look of the high fantasy art style of this game. However, the generic gameplay and core mechanics of the game just feel so... "meh" is the best way to describe it. I dunno. Like I said, I will probably pick it up on a steam sale and try it out then.
I'm drooling. But if they wait till mid to late Summer to release Kepler then I would hope it could best the 7000AMD series cards since it took so long to come to market.
My impression from the PC demo is that I can't wait to pay $10 for this game on a Steam sale. :/
Actually Lodossrage- sales say otherwise. The PC industry is just as well of as the console industry.
And Steam sales have everything to do with PC gaming. If people didn't want to game on their PCs then digital or not no one would be buying them.
Obviously you are a console kiddie though or else the simple statement and fact that PC devs/publishers are making plenty of money (a fact) would not have you so defensive.
90%, huh? .. and yet games companies make plenty of money on the PC platform anyway.
I, too, am waiting for Nvidias newest video card before I jump ship. Nvidia's 3D solution is just simply better than AMDs approach. I don't like using a 3rd party vendor to play my games in 3D, and I don't like being stuck with 1080 24p video through my HDMI. (AMD doesn't support 3D over D-DVI so no 1080p 60hz)
However I know given Nvidia's past I will probably pay like ~100-150.00 more for the top end part than I would for the AMD part. :/
@NYC_Gamer- your statement is flat out wrong. (unless you meant recently of course) ATI/AMD and Nvidia have been trading blows for years over which has the best flagship card. (as well as midrange price/performance crowns)
However it would not surprise me if Nvidia's new cards are faster overall. But it also wouldn't surprise me if they draw a lot more power, run hotter, and have a much louder/larger cooling system.
It seems to me that AMD knew going ...
Awesome!
There is this thing called underclocking. You might have heard of it.
And a vid card, made specifically for the console, could easily not draw that kind of power and be in machines by early 2013 and still be based on the 7000 series architecture from AMD.
I'm glad I picked up The Old Republic. Give me something to do while waiting on Diablo 3.. while waiting on Guild Wars.. while waiting for Command and Conquer: Generals 2! :)
Yeah man. Its been so long I don't even remember what all I did in the first two episodes.
I really liked Dead Island. This guys complaint was it was "too hard" in the city? Too hard? Nothing about the game was too hard. NOTHING.
It was? I don't remember it being bad.
At some point I see consoles going the way of the dinosaur. Especially since this newest generation was born into the days of the digital age and are not afraid to game on PCs that have close to photo-realistic graphics for dirt cheap. (years from now when those toddlers are in their early 20s)
Hell, in the future I see your Television set will have a PC built into it capable of playing more advanced games than what we have today. Why would you need a console or a PC? Another...
