I love the last line of this article - "While most people have been saying 2012 will be a bad year for gamers, I think we’ll be just fine with the options listed above."
The only people saying that are people that only game on consoles. If you are PC gamer there is a LOT to be excited about next year!! Diablo 3 is just a start.
I'll stick with my PC. I've bought all three current generation consoles. They mostly collect dust.
Mess? I bought it day one and played over 60 hours of gameplay without any trouble.
But yeah, no surprise they didn't spend much time optimizing it for the PC. Seems to be a running theme.
This was my game of the year as well. Simply a fantastic game. Close second would be Star Wars the Old Republic.
I love Steam.
I still say the best of the series was Daggerfall. (if you take into account the time period it was made)
^^ THIS!
A list of most anticipated games of 2011 WITHOUT mentioning Diablo 3 should be renamed CONSOLE games of 2011 that are most anticipated.
Of course the PC game I want more than anything now is Command and Conquer: Generals 2.
I REALLY hope that they stick with the formula that makes the series so great and that it translates well into the console arena. This is a PC exclusive series that every console only gamer needs to get their hands on. I'm the extra popularity will encourage other devs to make similar and deeply atmospheric games like it.
I am so much happier now.
@Silent - Don't forget he signed the NDAA bill, did not move to try and repeal the "patriot" act (and signed its extension), and did not close down Gitmo. That is just the start of the list for me.
But you did a good job explaining how the Nobel Peace prize winner not only didn't end the current occupations but also expanded the war into Libya and is now harassing Iran.
I played the PC version and thought it was a damn good game.
LOL, this article is a failure. Everyone I know that has Steam has well over 60 games in their catalogue. I have over a hundred because of the steam sales.
Gamersgate is a failure. NOT steam.
So don't get it for your child then if you think he can't handle it.
Dark Souls, Witcher 2, and Star Wars: The Old Republic are my top 3.
I liked Dead Island. A lot. The rest I am inclined to agree with.
I played WoW for a little less than a month earlier this year. Got all the way to level 73 while playing with a friend who had been playing the game since launch day. Even though I played non stop for a week while on vacation with him if he wasn't playing then I didn't want to play. However I've been playing under the early access for this MMO and I am addicted. And I play all but the toughest of areas by myself. Then I just do a "LFG (insert quest/flashpoint name here)"...
I want another Jedi Knight. And not that Force Unleashed crap.
The ONLY reason any company would lower their price is to either stay competitive or try to boost lagging sales. Typically both go hand in hand..
BJ Shea huh? I think I knew her in college. :)
Now where is my early access key?!?!
I wish they would get Solid State Drives. But I know that won't happen. :(
