Bad news. It could just be because it is different. I didn't feel comfortable with the DS4 coming from using the 360 controller at first either. But now I feel uncomfortable using the old 360 controller on my PC.
I have run into trouble more than once because the menu will lag when opening. Sometimes by up to 2 seconds. Then another 3-4 seconds for the pictures of the items to load in once the menu is brought up.
With this being real time does it count as a "JRPG" and not just a western RPG made by the Japanese?
I was always under the impression the term JRPG was meant solely for turn based (think FF series) type of games. Or am I completely wrong on this?
4k is cool but I think the "not quite 4k but UHD" monitors/TVs are gonna be the sweet spot for higher end gaming on PCs for a while to come. Mostly because UHD monitors have both much higher resolutions while still maintaining decent gtg timing (usually ~5ms or less) and being low in price. You can get some UHD monitors in 29 inches starting as low as $549.
My vote goes to 2 as well. I didn't care enough about part 3 to even finish it.
Pretty graphics do not a good game make. But they sure help. I'm gonna rent this and give it a try regardless of what I am hearing from this review and others. Thief got some really crappy reviews and I really liked it. I'm hoping this will turn out to be the same.
@Phil- I've had hands on time with a couple different VR headsets, the occulus being the most recent. Trust me, Melvin is correct. Even at 1080 that close to the screen you can see all kinds of corruption and noise and even a screen-grid in some cases. Yes, it could be worse. But I don't think you'll truly understand what I mean until you try it for yourself.
But even if you can still see those things in the final version it is still a lot of fun and for the most...
He just made the game engine. Not the game itself.
I run into this problem on my PC sometimes when playing in stereoscopic 3D. If I cant get at least 60fps/2=30fps then the gameplay experience can really suffer a great deal and it forces me to turn things down to meet my basic needs. (jittery screen, video/gameplay lags)
But then some older games like Fallout New Vegas or Skyrim I can easily get to run ~120/2=~60fps and they look like they were meant to be played in 3D.
Also something to keep in mind is that ...
You will always hear him say this about a closed platform.
PRAISE THE SUN!!!
This game is one of my favorite ever. It will most likely be my game of the year. I really love this style of gameplay/progression.
So much so that I can't wait for Demon Souls 2 on PS4 and hope there are many great rip-offs of this gamestyle for me to enjoy.
I love it so much I really don't want to play any other type of game. :/
Dark Souls has very little of either and yet it is an awesome game because the gameplay is great.
Of course, that doesn't mean you couldn't have both. But when playing a GAME the gameplay needs to be good.
They wanted to skim money off the top of auction house sales. In order to increase people buying/selling they tied stats down to gear basically killing Diablo as we knew and loved it.
And now they've failed at even maintaining the auction house that the greedy SOBs wanted so badly.
And yes, the game was better on consoles. Why? Because it was DESIGNED to be on consoles. And it showed. One of the very few games I'd rather play on a console than the PC...
I have this at +10 and still use it at level 124. I prefer this one over the lightening sword from the white knight because the way it swings is good for taking out lots of smaller enemies at once and it is more forgiving of moving targets like early invasions/pvp.
No way. I'll play this on my PC if I play it at all. Ask when a true xbox1 exclusive launches for a more accurate answer.
If there ever was a perfect game I would say that Dark Souls 2 would be in the running for it.
Because some people want to FORCE you to be gay or celebrate it. (in a game in this case)
I agree with the OP though.
There is a very noticeable lack of shadow quality in the newest pictures. That stands out more than anything to me from looking at those pictures. The actual characters look the same but the lighting effects are obviously not the same.
Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety would have made it on my list.
GFWL was a joke. I am glad it is gone. I hope it stays gone forever.
