200 million subscribers is ridiculous but I thought the $400 million a year revenue was lower than WoW...maybe only $5/month to play?
The xbox 360 has more units sold worldwide, but year on year comparative sales has the ps3 ahead of the 360....so you choose your side I guess, I will be playing my games =)
With PS3, PSP, and Wii, when Monster Hunter came out, the hardware push was huge and outsold everything else, not 17,000 and only outside the PS2....just saying.
They have a few cool ones: Dead Rising, Resident Evil, they published GoW 3 for Japan and GoW collection...but agreed, they have alot more potential left in this generation.
I have money to support my family and my gaming habits, but cannot justify buying into another generation of consoles anytime soon. I will be buying the 3DS, but will try my hardest to wait for the second iteration of the hardware to get the best out of it has to offer. With the 3DS, it's software, my PS3's and PC's software, PS move, etc, I will not be happy to try to spend another 300+ on another console, period.
"2. Ninty/Sony/Micro like money "
Exactly, they like money and to make a new console purchase justifiable to the consumer, the tech will have to be pretty expensive which we learned from Sony this generation, is a LONG term commitment and will not be thrown away at the first signs of profitability. Now couple that with developers take millions of dollars and years to develop games will be very upset to have to try to develop for a new small market to get return on ...
With the economy and the state of our game developers, we will not see any new living room consoles in the next three years. Handhelds? Well, we know of Nintendo's, but Sony and MS might have handhelds out in the next few. Sony is in no hurry to throw away the PS3's profitability yet, especially after so much being lost on development and selling at a loss to get into consumer's houses. I know much of the losses will be less because of the cell being very future proof especial...
with the needed analog stick, etc but no one WILL EVER "push" Apple out of gaming you retard. Do you know how many people are now millionaires because of .99 games on itunes? With the iphone4 just released days ago and people STILL swarming to buy it, Apple has a huge revenue stream for many more years to come.
This looks gamecubish and the Wings of Icarus shown at E3 looked N64 and that had been in production for about a year...am I missing something?
Metroid was controlled with the stylus on bottom and all action on the top screen. I don't see why you would have to look at the stylus when playing as long as the controls were natural. Plus, I don't really want touch FORCED onto every nintendo IP that I love. Having 3d on my handheld with all these IPs sounds much more worth my money =)
we don't even know when it is going to be released and at what price point and you are asking about the NEXT hardware installation...lol
Don't take up so much space to say so little...please.
so not true but still hilarious =)
I am so happy that nintendo is using the money they made from the casual market and fully embracing the hardcore market again...I seriously missed them. To anyone who says there are not alot of good games for the ds...how many have you played? I can honestly think of 20 or so games that I truely had a unique experience with on my ds. On the next psp, Sony HAS to get it right, period. they should skip 3d and go in a different direction if they are serious about being successful in the handhel...
I think the 3DS is looking mighty fine to me! I would like to see some more specs on ram, cpu, gpu etc to get a point of comparison to psp and wii. But I still will probably get one and I want to be a first model kind of consumer but we ALL know one or two more much better ones will be released a year or so after with a much more attractive price point....man, the tragedies of a gamer with new hardware lol
LOL bubbles
I think since they took out the hardware chip in natal/kinect, it's real potential to do awesomeness and transform your living room has nothing to do with games since the coolest things that they showed about it are not the games but features and new ways to operate your 360.
but only fanboys read something and totally disregard the truth so they can call someone else out.
Just looks awful. I don't know but it looks ridiculously tacky, I mean how much of the game are you going to waggle your arms to block shots from enemies on the screen and when that ship got hit from the ricochet...more awfulness...maybe just me though...plus why does MS think it can slip prerecorded gameplay with actors in front of us to make us think it is awesome? I hope Sony uses gamers for godsakes since we are the ones who will be buying the new add-ons.
I'd pay $350 (Arcade plus kinect) to have kinect actually use it's potential rather than some crappy casual market toy. Move looks awesome because it WORKS well with gaming, period.
