"Microtransactions BAAAAD"
"But it's only cosmetic, and has no impact on gamepla-"
"BAAAAAAAaAaAaD!!!!!! "
N4G in a nutshell.
Well that hasn't happened to games like Overwatch and Paladins. And don't jump into conclusions and say that it will eventually happen to those two. We don't know that. But if it does happen, then fine.
I'm an idiot who buys microtransactions on consoles because I no longer have any hope left in video games being saved from microtransactions. Scum will always be scum. Me? I'm just gonna go ahead and add more fuel to the fire until it all comes crashing down.
@CaptainTravel
Agreed. Games like Overwatch give us free characters, free maps, and free content without the need for is to spend a dime on loot boxes, whereas for the majority of the 7th generation, and much in this gen, all of that stuff was being sold to us.
Can't speak for games like Minecraft and No Man's Sky, though. Don't know how their business model works.
I love it when people lose their shit over someone else's opinion. Come on, folks. Cry some more :) Put an even bigger smile on my face.
Welp, time to watch the world burn.
Many of you are saying it was Sony's fault the game died. But I'd argue it was Evolution Studios' fault Driveclub died. Not because Sony closed them down, but because the game was supposed to release with the PS4's launch, received a nearly year-long delay, and still released as a suboptimal game.
Anyone care to prove me wrong?
Is this seriously a question that needs to be answered??? It's Sojourn! The OW2 gameplay trailer SHOWED us, for Christ's sake. Overwatch launched with 21 characters, and there's already been 10 released post-launch, increasing that number to 31. OBVIOUSLY Sojourn is hero 32.

No one seemed to have a problem with online-only games like Quake 3 Arena and Team Fortress 2. Why is Overwatch a problem?
You're saying that as if online-only games haven't been around for years.
This hurt me physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually (I'm exaggerating).
But in all seriousness, it saddens me how obscured Kat and Gravity Rush are. Such a beautiful IP with a team that truly cares for it. If you look closely, they're trying really hard to give Kat some popularity by having her in multiple crossovers-related stuff (Phantasy Star Online, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, PlayStation All-Stars, Hot Shots Golf, just to name a few)...
@ravinash
That's exactly what it means. They still didn't lie to you by saying they have 70 million concurrent players.
It means it's not your preference. Simple as that.
It says it REACHED 70 million players, not that it has 70 million CONCURRENT players.
And then there's Driveclub, Duke Nukem Forever, Anthem, and Aliens: Colonial Marines, that were either delayed, or have had stupidly long development cycles, and were still released broken or substandard.
@EddieNX
I was starting to feel sorry for you when I saw all your thumbs down for stating your honest opinion about the game, but then you completely lost me when you started downplaying others and making your opinion the dominant one.
I'd argue that title goes to Skyrim.
Poorly optimized game full of bugs with boring combat, uninteresting enemies, repetitive boss battles, more frustrating than it was challenging, and an anticlimactic boss battle that made the whole journey feel like a waste of time.
I'd take Breath of the Wild's breakable weapon system over Skyrim's boring combat.
@naruga
Because Death Stranding and Fallen Order were reviewed by two different people with completely different opinions and preferences.
Seriously. Why is that so fucking difficult to understand?
