Well considering the fact that Microsoft had purchased Obsidian Emtertainment sometime before The Outer Worlds was announce (And was still released for PS4), I can see why this article is being made.
I don't know about them winning the whole generation, but the fact that a new studio was able to release 4 well-received titles under the terrible ownership of EA is impressive, and I give them props for their success.

And yet the PS4 and Switch are proving out to be successes.
PC can have the largest selection of exclusives for all I care, but how often do they get the notoriety that the games I just listed get? How often do we get PC exclusives that show off the true potential of PC gaming, or how powerful its hardware is? The hardware that the master race likes to brag about, but never have the exclusives to show that off? Star Citizen? When is that coming out?

You can brag about how powerful PCs are (I' not doubting the power of PCs) but if you don't have the exclusives to show off that power, I don't wanna hear it. Show me exclusive games that can match the likes of God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, Days Gone, Super Mario Odyssey, etc, then you can brag. Don't just show me a super duper modded version of GTA5.

Personally, I wasn't all that interested in the PS4 exclusives of this year like I was last year and in 2017. Death Stranding and Days Gone didn't catch my attention like Horizon: Zero Dawn and Spider-Man did. But to call 2019 terrible? That's going too far.

I would actually preffer it if Sony introduced a version of the PS5 that doesn't have backwards compatability, and sell it at a lower price. But I don't know how much that would cost them, or how much time it would take.

I'm not a fan of modern Naughty Dog. I loved Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter, and I really enjoyed Uncharted, but I honestly don't care for The Last of Us. I'm not a fan of their realistic slower approach, and near complete absence of the platforming that they were known for with Crash and Jak. I don't doubt for a moment that The Last of Us deserved the acclaim it got, but their new direction is just not for me.
