if you read the halo books the story and scope are much better than whats presented in the games.
that being said, i still give the nod to mass effect. the depth of the story is unparalleled.
im not talking about the reapers either, its the side stories such as the corruption of cerberus, the moral conundrum of the genophage, the way the different races treat and think of each other.

ill f'ing buy it for my kids and play it with them. its a parents job to raise kids and let them experience things with guidance. it is possible you know for your kids to play a game and NOT take it into real world. its called common sense.

team fortress 2 is one the games that i will admit i have never played but have always been interested.
you have to admit though that a lot more people play consoles and not PC. (yes tf is on console but i hear that its not the same).
halo ce did pave the way for a lot of games in our console generation, just as doom for pc and goldeneye for n64 have done beforehand.

Ill start by saying halo is my favorite, used to play halo ce in buddys basement with 2 tvs and 8 guys, it was a blast playing capture the flag on hang em high and bloodgulch.
that being said, i still like resistance, killzone, crysis 1, and call of duty somewhat. as far as multi goes..... nothing beats halo and battlefield for me.

you could argue that under bungie halo was not milked. 4 core games in ten years. ODST swings in your argument since an offshoot of bungie were creating an expansion for 3 and decided to make full game (bad idea should have stayed expansion).
