I am crazy excited for the lineup, i was only agreeing on originality which doesn't really bother me when so much is coming out.
The only complaint I really have about this year is that I need a 2nd Job.
I plan on buying: Skyrim, Deus Ex3, Gears 3, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, definitely and would like to buy a few more like rage, assassins creed, and resistance. Already have Crysis 2, La Noire, and Infamous 2.
How big does a game have to be to wow you? The elder scrolls games are the longest Single player I have ever seen by a wide margin.

Oblivion did a great job at side missions, even structured them in a way that felt like another game. The fighters guild, mages guild, thieves guild, and dark brotherhood each had a lines of quests that had continuity and an ongoing story throughout.
They were longer than most non RPG games themselves, and avoid what most side missions suffer from: and that's lack of story and motivation for players ...
Skyrim is my most anticipated game this year, Mass Effect 3 was a close 2nd and thats already been delayed.
Skyrim caters to a different audience than every other game coming out this holiday, would think battlefield and call of duty wouldnt take away too many RPG fans.

Like you said its been 5 years, but most haven't played anything earlier than Morrowind, and a ton haven't even played before Oblivion. Nobody can say that Elder Scrolls is rushing out sequels.

It did get delayed, so it is entirely possible that single player has already been finished and they are taking the extra 4 months for this mode.

whether or not your buying MW2 or BF3, it is nice to see other companies embracing what Bungie.net has been doing for a few games now.
