Paying for online multiplayer is still playing for online multiplayer; a scam, just like XBL

They just shoe-horned it into PS+ thinking nobody would notice because of their victory at E3 against microsoft, and they were right. Suckers are lining up paying for this scam. There was no justification given for adding it to PS+ other than 'hehe time to get some more money'

Ugh another obnoxious lets player who plays scary games

Occulus looks great, as always, even though he had a low res version

I think just by the nature that this is CDPR and the witcher series that other rpgs like skyrim and dragon age are going to get their asses handed to them by witcher 3

However, this is CDPRs first big excursion into an open world game, so we'll see if they can pull it off well, but I have the utmost faith in them. They seem dedicated to the art of making great games and they treat their fans so well, probably one of the best developers of all time

Well I think the primary reason they are expecting such good performance and framerate and graphics is because all this talk about how next-gen is going to be such amazing graphics, when in reality the hardware is already considerably dated. They don't realize what they are asking, 60 fps and 1080p at the graphical fidelity of next gen games just isn't realistic on 400 dollar hardware

If that were realistic, I would swoop in and buy the PS4 in a heart beat because the...

Well movies are an entirely different bag of apples compared to something as interactive as gaming. You can feel when a game is low framerate because of the feedback you get when you move your character and the screen choppily adjusts. You don't get this effect in movies.

How about this

compare a 24 fps movie to a 24 fps game and you will notice that the game is remarkably choppy while the movie looks smooth. Care to explain this discrepancy?

@Dig

you can play halo with a controller but your performance would be greatly increased if you weren't restricted to controller input and had the ability to hook up the mouse and keyboard to the xbox one. Just a fact of the matter, mouse and keyboard is the best input method for shooters. Period.

framerate fundamentally alters gameplay. Its why games like COD are so universally praised and played, because of its fluidity of controls due to 60 FPS. I'm not even arguing that COD is good, but its edge over the competition is its got a solid framerate at 60 FPS. Response time is greatly increased, actions feel direct and impacting, and overall the pace of the game is increased. You cannot play a fast paced game with a low framerate and hope to survive the competition who are playing w...

Playing a shooter, let alone one as complicated as arma, with a controller is a bad idea in general

Careful there man, we don't want another HL3 delay

Yeah, it shoulda been: Hardware (plus controller) in one announcement, then OS, then software (improvements to steam as well as a look at games available on the steam machine as well as other platforms)

but they get points for making the controller look...interesting. I have been looking to purchasing some sort of controller input method for PC gaming but I'm a bit hesitant to pick something like this up when it looks so drastically different and completely does away with...

I wonder if they each will differ in their graphical power. With respect to that, I wonder how much their most powerful unit will be, and how it compares to if you were to build it yourself

If theres not too much of a discrepancy between the build it yourself price and the valve prebuilt price I may check it out

Why are you comparing games with sporadic, disorganized development cycles littered with budget disputes, cancellations and revivals, by unreliable developers to a game that is being developed by one of the best developers with no budget issues whatsoever

Why are you comparing those games and thinking that your comparison somehow validates your conclusion? They are simply too different to compare.

Also did you seriously imply that Half life should try to sho...

Guys guys...stop the arguing

BF4 looks and performs equally horrible on PS4 AND Xbone, because the hardware is weak and the gameplay is bad because who plays FPS with a controller lol

The PC is the best looking and best playing version. Period. This arguing is all trivial in that regard

Console players: 'Xbone has better graphics than ps4! No, ps4 has better graphics!!!'

PC players: 'Actually PC has better graphic...

Ohhhh so not only are you struggling to get a good framerate and resolution in single player, now apparently the promised '60 fps' in multiplayer is only some of the time

Next gen ladies and gentlemen

2013, and we still do NOT have a 60fps 1080p standard, something that was attainable a decade and a half ago. I was optimistic about these next gen consoles but I have started to see the kinks in the armor...well its not REALLY 1080p, its 900p nataive......

@Naroon

People don't like when they call it overrated because saying something is overrated is such an empty, meaningless critique. Like...seriously, overrated with respect to what...and on what criteria

Something being overrated is about subjective as it gets and doesn't really carry any real merit imo

I agree. IMO the pinnacle of half life games has been Episode 2, everything is just so perfect. I love all the half life games mind you, but episode 2 just has everything that makes HL great plus all the new things Valve have learned in their development experience

also, dat strider fight at the end...amazing. Valve took defending some old barns and made it badass

A few factors influence why they are tight lipped about half life 3

1.) The half life 2 beta leak debacle
2.) The Left 4 Dead 2 quick release and subsequent outrage
3.) The fact that this is their flagship title that will most likely usher in a brand new engine that will become the standard for the next wave of next gen games they develop for it
4.) They are waiting for an in tandem release of the steam-machine and steam OS. It would be a nice incentiv...

The treks through the dark woods with the screen distortions and the voices and the taken with giant axes chasing you as you frantically try to turn on the generator were pretty nerve-wracking on high difficulty settings

'but you really cant compare the games that are only on PC vs the only on Consoles games.'

Find me the part where I compared games that were 'only' on PC vs 'only' on consoles.

You claimed 'consoles have the better games' and I called you out on it. Next time try to keep an eye on when you slip up and say an absolute statement like that
