You're 100% correct. However that's essentially what early access IS. It's a gamble. That's why the games are cheaper. We Happy Few would be another example.
I see nothing wrong with paid exclusives. You're basically paying someone to make you a sandwich, as opposed to hiring someone onto your payroll to make sandwiches. It's simply a question of less risk.
Articles like these are pointless if we have NO IDEA what they paid. If they paid 500 Million? yes, it was a mistake. If they paid 100 bucks, then no. My point is, we can guess and assume all we want, but without (heaven forbid) FACTS, nobody can make an educated analysis. BTW, I bought it. Yes, it has MAJOR issues. I have hope that throughout the early access process it improves. I got it for $24, so it ain't a huge risk.
My guess for top three will be BOTW, Mario, Cuphead. Not sure which order.
I'll bet a lot of people shredding this game are the same people who said it shouldn't be eligible for GOTY because it's "unfinished". I would imagine people buying this game realize it's unfinished, and agree to pay 1/2 the price of a regular game to deal with the bugs as they get ironed out. I mean, isn't that the whole point of early access?
I received one of the 1400 in home trials and I’m not keeping it for one reason. I constantly have to recalibrate the controls. I loved the Ocean Descent experience, and would have enjoyed Rush of Blood, but the move controllers were constantly going out of sync. It felt like fussing with the original Wii controllers. Pretty bummed actually.

Exactly. And just maybe people need to look beyond this gen. I mean, what IF the PS5 isn’t the (and I hate using this term) “winner” next gen and THEY have a smaller pool. It should be looked at as a healthy option for ALL gamers to play whomever they want. It reeks or “proprietary” bs. Look what happens to Betamax, mini disc, etc. history has shown when you lock people out, you almost never win the “long game”. That would go to Horizon. That game was a chore to finish. Gorgeous though.
The gameplay is like butter, and the game is just flat out fun.

For what it's worth (which is about as much as every opinion on here), I am currently playing "Lost Legacy" on my Pro, and the following on my Xbox One X: Assassins Creed Origins, South Park, Wolfenstein 2, Evil Within 2, and Cuphead. The funny thing is, while I'm playing ANY of these games, the thought that they are or aren't on another platform never enters my mind.
One reason. $60 while being $20 or less on every other platform. Most people don't JUST own a Switch.
