Couldn't they just have the service and not add brand new games?
@goldby
My only point was, you can never tell if a company is going to blow it at launch (PS3/Xbone). the fact is, BOTH of these companies have gotten over-confident in the past and made huge blunders because of it. I like to think going forward that neither is going to make that same mistake again. I just don't see from a consumer standpoint, why anybody thinks have extra options is "bad". Look at Fortnite. you can play with or without mobile, PC players etc....
Exactly. Its the only time of the day when i can truly have peace!
It happens pnce you hit 40
Those are my two favorite things.
The only problem is, the ones so far have come out waaaaaay after the PS4/Xbox versions, and they come out at $60 when you can get the other's for half of that. So really, your only audience is people who ONLY have a Switch. I can't imagine that's a massive number.
What if they aren't number one next gen?
@wonderfulmonkeyman
Careful. You might get flagged for being "inappropriate".
"Those companies are in the business of making money. MS is not doing so well, Nintendo is doing fairly well, Sony is killing it" I have news for you. Console sales are not in a vaccum. MS is doing just fine, and Nintendo is raking in cash. Just because they are 2nd and 3rd in the "console wars", doesn't mean they aren't "doing well". Yes, 80,000,000 is a crazy amount of consoles. But isn't 40,000,000 a crazy number as well? The only console in recent...
I actually think they will do this. People say they don't need to because Sony is "dominating". However you can't just assume that will be the case for the next gen. Sony got over confident after the monster success of the PS2 and let MS claim the next gen (I know PS3 eventually caught up, but I think most would agree last gen tipped in MS favor). Then MS got over confident and did the exact same thing with the Xbone. It's just like politics. In the U.S. for example, the...
I can see why some people would preorder digital in this case simply because the file is giant (45GB), and some people might want to play it right when it's available.
Yet they priced it like one.
Horrible price point. Even with two games. Doom was also waaaaaaay overpriced. Especially since most people that were going to play it already owned it on something else. I would have considered Doom on Switch for maaaaaybe 30 bucks at most. But it’s cheaper on every other platform. True, it’s portable, but you’re paying the price for that with graphical and frame rate compromises.
May be make or break for Xbox, but for MS? Not in the least.
"Available on the PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X on September 21"
LOVED the first one. Haven't touched this since they monetized the sh*t out of it.
God I hope this is true AND good. I get a bit uneasy when athletes are actually "involved". Boxing NEEDS a comeback. Getting rid of the 50 different "titles" would be a good start.
True, however Microsoft was accutly aware of how they have been perceived the past few years (No exclusives, closing stuidios). This was pretty much the only card they could play, and I think they played it well.
