agreed. Internet trolls go crazy complaining about COD but its the #1 game every year, because of its formula not in spite of it. It could use some updates for sure, but a new engine is risky because I think COD is so successful because of its gameplay mechanics and a new engine could alter that.
gameplay/mechanics have always been better on COD. BF isn't innovating either, just so we're on the same page lol.

@sofresh412 thats the worst argument I've ever heard. You buy a cell phone to use it as a phone, duh. You buy a gaming console to game. But when they come out and say "hey we can do other things, Netflix, DVR, etc." and then only one company charges extra for those things it's shady and really doesn't make sense.
you can use a lot of arguments against COD, its stale, doesn't change much each year etc. But to say its only surviving by 12yr olds and 30yr old youtubers is the dumbest argument there is. It's the #1 game every year, as far as sales and people actually playing the game. SOMEBODY must like it no? BF has the same copy and paste method lol. It's taken what, 5 years for them to catch up to cod with 60fps? I agree that COD is stale and it needs to improve, but there isn't a FPS out there really innovating and changing things....yet.
@MWong what FPS is really doing anything new and next gen? If anything games like Titanfall and Destiny might be a little, but those aren't launch titles. KZ and BF are the only other ones and it's the same with them. Copy and paste every year with better graphics.
no, because everyone that buys COD (ok 98%) only do so for the multiplayer, so in that sense they'd be making half of what they do now. How is that beneficial? And you could say more people will buy it now since it's half price, but how many more people can buy a COD game? Over a billion every game. It'll never happen, developers/publishers want all the money they can get.

And here's the most recent numbers by month. This is just on Live. As you can see, It's not even close and hasn't been since the games came out. Again, two CODs are above BF. And it'll happen again this year.

What other new and revolutionary things is BF doing that it hasn't done before? a skyscraper falls down? ok........ Not that COD is doing anything either, but come on.
BF has never come close to COD in gameplay........everything else ya, but gameplay? no.

people that say "just end this series already" or "let this series die" are brain dead. That's like saying let Marvel die. Lets take the most successful franchise in gaming and just kill it.......i mean come on people. It's not like they're bad games, they just aren't great anymore. Hopefully they can implement some things that can improve the game for next gen and have some fun experiences.
